(BA BUSA @ Dec. 23 2006,20:14) What you don't carry chains when you ride

They just don't make grippy chains yet.

I mean the tire technology is much further ahead of chain technology.  Warm-up time and edge grip just aren't satisfactory with the chains.  Chains do have decent durability.  But without the grip....

You're not installing them properly

Looks like a good ride....

Chains and spikes are good but the cheapest way is sheet metal screws.
You cut off the heads and the back twist them into the rubber... this way when spring comes around you take them back out.

Nice pics Charles. I jusy got back from a ride too. It was 47 deg. not too bad with leathers. Can't beat riding in Kansas City on Christmas eve! With some luck I will be able to hold on to 7 th. place in the milage challange! Take care and have a happy holiday season.

(DEVLDOG @ Dec. 24 2006,06:48) Nice pics bro,is your bike at stock height or raised just a bit.looks to sit high just a bit?
I believe he raised it 1" and uses a 55 profile tire for better handling in the twisties.
