RIP Hugo Chavez

great people in Venezuela ...horrible leader..
i heard dennis rodman will be there for funeral :laugh:

You know Projekt, you don't have to make every quote in huge bold red letters, most of us can read just fine.

I say good riddance to the dictator. I hope for prosperity and best the best of luck to the people of Venezuela now that he is 6 feet down.

Some readers would beg to differ my fellow Airman and being that I am one rebellious Mofo since back in my Air Force days, I did it just to bug you. ???

Well hopefully someone with a more level head will take over and make the country better.

Just because we have a generally neutral to positive relationship with a state leader doesn't necessarily mean that they are more balanced and or level headed. Odds are that they simply "punk" much more willingly and are a "chicken head" to the US foreign policy be it through the application of Economic policies or political policies in favor of those lucrative contracts. One of my favorite examples of this is a US trained and placed head of state named Shah Reza Palavi and he did great for the US interests in Iran that is until the student uprising also known as the "Evil" Islamic Revolution said enough is enough and booted the hell out of us from that country while holding white american hostages for the world to take notice and actually publish in media. Another of my favorite examples of fair and balanced leadership is a man from the so called crime infested burbs around Baghdad. His name was Saddam Hussein and he was fair and balanced feeding dissidents alive to big cats in his very own backyard zoo, that is until he stopped playing by the rules warding off the threat from the East in Iran the terrorist and radical haven they claim it is and made a petroleum deal outside of the confines of the Petro-Dollar. Suddenly, he is the devil incarnate with weapons of "Maaasss Distruction". You saw what they did to him.

Shall I continue the lecture... Tell you what, let's take a 15 minute recess.

Too soon?

Dang, changing those hard to reach spark plugs on jet engines seems to have had a lasting effect on you? :dunno:

Most of us could give two sh itz about your rants!

The mentality of people in the states never cease to amaze me. Some of the posts in here are indicative of how political correctness has run rabid in America. The guy was socialist anti Semite dictator that ran a country into the ground, hated America and Americans ,hes been linked to cartel money and terrorism. Why anyone in America should give two ****s about this guy is beyond me. We talk about revolution and take them from our cold dead hands and how our government is getting to large. This guy has went far beyond all those things. We all say we are patriots and would revolt or fight yet we say rip when a scumbag like this dies and hope for regional stability. Those people need to stand up while there is instability and let the government know they are not standing for another rule under a socialist dictator.

Do tell, we would love to know about what specifically motivated you to make these statements. All in good fun of course.

What can I say to that? Oh.. "I love my haters." Let me add you to the list of "People I don't give a **** about." LOL! :moon:

Never did touch a jet in any maintenance aspect and by the way, not a single spark plug in sight in a jet. :poke:

I don't think anyone here has commented as to be afraid of it, just not liking it. How do you view socialism?

As with any other socio-political system, it has its ups and downs. No political system yet devised has been able to overcome it one critical failing; people are corruptible.

Now that's the ticket! A real introspective from someone with the cojones to lay out the discussion. Applause. Truth being told is that every socio-political system is just named as the powers that be desire. Just look at the official name for the nation we know as North Korea: Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Isn't that laughable?

Now, dial it back to 1983 at the height of Socialist Yugoslavia and those folks had a standard of living very comparable to people in the US. Heck, their passport even rivaled the United States of America's passport for most desirable in order to gain access to unlimited travel worldwide. Shoot, they even have a, to this day, pact with Castro's Cuba to come and go as they please without even the cost of a entry and exit Visa!... Mind you now, prior to the Cuban revolution, Cuba was like a resort paradise with all the gangsters and socialites travelling there on Holiday with abandon. They must have something nice there. To this day, Canadians and Europeans love that place and still go there to party it up on world class resorts.

I'm curious, do you prefer socialism?

I tend to prefer socialist democracy, assuming that we can eliminate the previously mentioned factor of human corruptibility. I think that a society that pulls together as a team will get more done, and consequently have a higher standard of living and more technical innovation than a society in which small #s of people excel while the large portion of the society exists in relative mediocrity. That said, all systems can (and do) fail when the greed of those in power subverts the intention of the system. Capitalism is great on paper; not so much fun once the people in power subvert the system for their own ends. The same holds true for socialism and every other system (communism, for instance...no they aren't the same).

You can go to ever squathole socialist country on the planet, and you still won't find one that equals the US. Since 'corruptability' is absolute, capitalism is the only system that has the potential of working, because those who achieve have the best shot- the rest only promote mediocrity.

Its always amusing to listen to people who are terrified of socialism...thanks for the laughs.
I can only speak for myself. I'm not terrified of anything. What amuses me is all the people who appear to like socialism even though it has failed time and again.

One definition of insanity is to keep trying the same thing over and over again , expecting different results.

So, what we read here is that by virtue of a Socialist orientation, said countries are squatholes? Therefore, Social democracies such as Germany and England are subpar?
