Running Lights

so hookin the wires to battery terminals, running light wire would make the bulb remain on, while touching the turn signal wire of the socket to the battery would do what?

it will stay lite also. the relay makes the bulb flash when your using a blinker

so what were you talkin about hookin it up to the battery for if they both will stay on? I'm pretty sure everyone knows the turn signals need a relay in order to flash. I guess I just got confused by what you said

sorry, had to run and didnt have the time to explain,
what you want to find out is which wire makes the light the brighest.
that one will be your turn signal wire to hook up to the orginal 1156 wire.
the other wire that lights a little dimmer will be the one you hook to the brown wire in the nose for your running/parking light.
easy way to explain is if your taking the orginal tail lights on your bike, "provide you have changed them " and moving them to the front, with the orginal tail light aka running/parking light being the dimmest and the brake lights now becoming the turn signal lights. if i get a chance after church i will look and see what wires go where.

Any additional direction on this mod is greatly appreciated. I really want to do this, but want to get it right the first time. Do you have to switch bulbs too or will the stock bulbs work? Can I get the 1157 socket from a regular auto parts store like Murray's?

you need to take your 1156 socket with you to match it up so that it will fit the hole and lock into place. that is why most just use there old 1157s from the tail light housing. you will use stock 1157 bulbs unless you want them superbright like rockadous's bike
his are the silverstars about 10 bucks for them, they are a different style of 1157 bulbs, but the stock factory style will work just fine.
if you can not find a set of 1157s that fit the front, and your still running the stock taillight, you can do this, take the sockets out of the taillight move them to the front, get two more 1157s from the parts store made close as possible to the orginal rears and put them in the rear, theres two plates that hold the sockets in the back tail that will lock down on just about any socket style that is close and keep them in place. .

Ok so i drew up a CRUDE diagram. Anyone that's done this can they tell me if i'm right? The turqoise wires spliced together into the brown euro wire. And the two black wires from each signal spliced together and to an available ground?

ok so using the old tail light sockets, theres a brown wire, white/black wire and black wire with a white stripe
yoyojeems

now question is, what are the power wires and ground wires respectively on the rear sockets and the front sockets so I know which wires to splice together? I assume the black wire with white stripe off to the side of the rear sockets is what i'd splice to the brown euro wire upfront, am i right?

ok got the nose apart, the euro wire has two wires......brown and black and white. I've surmized that the turqoise wire is the power on the front signals, and the black n white wire is the signal wire correct? Third picture is with the rear tail socket installed and wires just hangin out

problem being that there's a black and white wire with the euro connector and with the stock front connector. I would assume that the power wire for the rear tail 1157 socket is the brown wire. That being said, do I splice the brown from the rear tail socket to the brown on the euro connector, the black/white wire from the rear tail socket to the black/white on the euro connector and the white with black stripe then to what?

Maybe this will help. Its crude but somethin like this would help me out. I tried to make it as literal and obvious as possible. I could've made it nicer but i wanna get the bike put back together.

i swapped out the measely bulb sockets that come with the UFO for signals and put in 194bulb sockets. Much brighter, just had to trim a lil off of each socket to get it to fit SNUG in the UFO socket holes.
