OK... this is really getting the best of me...

what causes a bike to run bad one day and not the next?

I have been having bad surges/ missing problems for a while now and have put up a lot of post asking about it.
but for this post what I really need is for someone to explain to me what causes it to act up only every now and then?
the only thing that changes is the weather??? (humidity, barometric pressure, etc.) I mean it ran bad this moring but this even it ran fine???

please help...

Intermittent problems suck. Have you checked your tps? Did you ever figure out if you map sensor was bad? Unhook your pcIII to see if it was the problem? All of the vacuum lines hooked up properly? Checked the fuel filter? I would think any of the above could cause intermittent problems and/or a poor running motorcycle.

I have checked all sensor and got good readings on all of them ,the tps is fine also. the plugs are still good (only 300 miles on this set) also I have unhooked the pcIII.,   have not checked the coils or the fuel filter yet.
so if it was the fuel filter ... could it cause a on / off  problem?  I bought some sea foam today and will pour it in in the A.M

Let me know how the sea foam goes cause i'd like to give this a try on my bike. Mine has been running a bit rough lately and i'm not sure why.

well I put the seafoam in the tank last night, and today I poured some down each throttle body... man did that thing smoke! I went for a 30-40 min ride at high rpms trying to blow the carbon out.

the funny thing is the bike has been running fine (just a slight "sputter") for the past two days; so its hard to say if it has helped any yet... I'll give a update in a couple more days.

I use seafoam in my truck all the time! Just change the oil soon after you use it as it does get past the rings and does thin out the oil!

well the seafoam didn't fix my problem ... ( can't even tell I used any thing; I'm sure the seafoam is good stuff , but I must not have had any carbon build up...) so........... back to the drawing board, this is really becoming a ball buster!

The fact that you changed your spark plugs means nothing.
New plugs could be defective.

How bike was running before plugs change? How old plugs looks?

Fuel pump would be another guess.

Can you provide more details how bad it runs. RPM? Load?

Take the bung out of the airbox collector tube on the left hand side of the bike - from memory it is just below the coolant tank. You'll see it recessed just above the engine casing. Let any condensation run out and put the bung back in. This should sort the problem as I had a similar thing happen and it made a huge difference. The weather does affect the bike as greater humidity leads to greater condensation which causes the bike to breathe less easily. I empty any water collecting in there every 500 miles or so.
