Sad news to share...

Connie I am so so sorry to hear this, When I read this my jaw dropped,

I had the priviledge to ride with Steve and Connie on a couple of occasions and Im here to tell you all you will never meet a greater couple of people.

I will look and see if I can find any pics. and again, Connie I am so sorry.

Thank you all for the prayers. This is the hardest thing I will ever face in my lifetime I am sure. Also, a couple of questions. Not everyone knows about a Busa. I am finding it difficult to find someone to 1) tell me how to put his bike on the two stands he has. They where purchased at cycle gear and I went back to the store and all they were worried about is, if I would sell his bike. 2) do I put an additive in the gas tank? do I have someone drain the gas? 3) Does the battery need to be disconnected? I bought a cover for his bike, do I need to worry about anything else? Also he had just bought me a bike. How much should I list a 2005 Suzi GSF RS with 20,487 miles. New paint and brand new tires. Do I list this with a motorcycle shop or craiglist? Thank you all for your help.

I'm sure one of the members in your area would be only too happy to come by and help you with the stands and storage issues and give you some advice on selling the other bike if needed.

NADA lists the gs500f for betweek $2000 and $2700. I'd list it for $2500 if it were me, being spring time and all. I think you will get a good response from the local paper and Craigs list. I think you've had enough crap from the dealership (they would probably offer you a grand anyways or put it on consignment at a 20%fee)

The stands hook onto the spools under the axles. They can be a bit tricky and really aren't necessary anyway. As far as the gas and battery it's great that your thinking ahead, but...Someone (more likely a few) from the org will probably help out.

Lord knows you have enough on your plate.

Chris

Please, if you have any other questions or anything......PLEASE ask! Maybe we can even get a local member to come help you.

It might be hard for people to explain but here is a thread with pics of my bike. Maybe it will give you a visual picture of how it should look on the stands... CLICK--> https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/gen-ii-busa-information/81894-pit-bull-stands-fit-great.html

If you plan to keep the bike for a long time, you can put a additive in the fuel and then fill the tank all the way up. It will keep from condensation, rust, and other stuff in the tank making the fuel go bad over time.

You can disconnect the battery if you want. Either way the battery will discharge over time. If you want to keep the battery healthy the longest, you need to get a battery tender. That will essentially trickle charge the battery over time to keep it as long as possible when the bike isn't ridden. CLICK--> Battery Tender Plus Charger - Street Bike - Motorcycle Superstore

You can try listing your bike for sale through a shop but they may not give you the best deal. I would try cycletrader or something online but will you be comfortable with people coming to look at it and ask questions?

If I lived closer I would be glad to help. Let us know if you need anything.

Thanks guys for stepping up. I'm sure she has enough on her plate and any little bit that can be done to help would really go a long way.
