I found this linked on a local board and wanted to share it here too: http://zrxoa.org/forums....umber=1

Being on two wheels exclusively this past year and a half, this really makes me think if the money I save not having a car is really worth while. This past week has been raining. I have to leave the bike out in the rain. Traction is terrible, so last night, I had the rear fish-tail getting on the freeway, and again the day before when I hit a speed bump at an angle and the rear hopped. Three weeks ago, I dropped the bike when the front slipped as I came to a stop at an intersection (minor scratches and a broken brake lever). After reading this, I am beginning to wonder when all the fatigue and stress will finally add up to another repeat of summer 2001 for me.

Anyway, this is probably a good reminder to all of us that we are all very vulnerable on the roads. If you are stressed out, in a hurry, or tired, maybe that is a good time to put the keys down, take a deep breath, and ask yourself if going out right now, especially on two wheels, is really worth it. For those of you that ride just for recreation, wishing you could ride daily rather than commute in that dreaded cage all week, count your blessings instead of cursing them. The grass isn't greener on the other side... trust me.

that's some good advice, whether we're on 2 or 4 wheels, always think before action.

Don't know if you cought the admins note that was added at the bottom.

comADMINS NOTE: Eric took his life on Friday, June 4, 2004 due to depression and hopelessness brought on by this accident. If you would like to contribute to his 7 year old son's trust fund, please see the details here: http://www.zrxoa.org/forums/showthr...&threadid=57567

I HAVE JUST READ ALL THE POSTS...........
I have nothing to say but god rest his soul and may life for his son be the best god has to offer.

Same story posted by Yellow Ranger. Didn't have words for that one and don't have any for this one . . .

God bless and have mercy on his soul. Also a prayer for God's everlasting blessings to his son.

This is as horrible as it gets...To survive the worst accident and be forced to take your own life because of the results...Makes me wonder would it be better to die as a direct result of an accident???

So incredibly sad...I read the entire thing and never expected to see that he took his life in the end...

My thoughts are with his son...I just can't imagine what he's going through right now...

A mother's worse nightmare come true...

I think life is inherently dangerous and cars, although "safer", still are not that safe... I keep telling my bro that if he wrecks his sportscar at 100, he probably won't live through it...

We only have one life and we all got to go... I just hope we all go peacefully.

Everytime i read stuff like this it makes me realize that i am blessed to be healty, to have a job. I often complain that I don;t earn enough, my house is not big enough, that i am too fat.
Well there is always worst.
I pray for his familly and for all of us.
We cannot be safe enough.

My prayers are with his son and his family. This could happen to any one...whether on a Motorcycle or a Car. Just you all be safe out there.

One of those things where I don't really know what to say. I do know that fellas no matter how bad a situation may seem, you can be delivered as long as you hang in there. By taking your own life you're telling God this situation is to great for you and I give up. In return condemning you soul to hell. God bless his family, I don't know how I could deal with a situation like that.
