At 43, I'm the youngest of the group I regularly ride with. The others are all retired, with a couple in their 70's. Some are faster than others, but none are slow, and they ride a variety of bikes (I'm the only sportbike rider). I got a good laugh about a year ago when I invited a friend (R1) my age, and his 20 something son-in-law (GSX-R750) to ride with us. They were all full of beans until the 70+ rider on the DR650 left them for dead in the twisties... 
Age means little until your physical infirmities force you to slow down...
Oh, when I was track riding, the "formula 40" crowd were among the fastest guys out there... so beware of us "old folks"...
