Scared of getting old

At 43, I'm the youngest of the group I regularly ride with. The others are all retired, with a couple in their 70's. Some are faster than others, but none are slow, and they ride a variety of bikes (I'm the only sportbike rider). I got a good laugh about a year ago when I invited a friend (R1) my age, and his 20 something son-in-law (GSX-R750) to ride with us. They were all full of beans until the 70+ rider on the DR650 left them for dead in the twisties...

Age means little until your physical infirmities force you to slow down...

Oh, when I was track riding, the "formula 40" crowd were among the fastest guys out there... so beware of us "old folks"... :beerchug:

A few of the riders in our hood invited me to go riding this morning. First time I meet them, three guys around their 70's. Nice guys front a H bagger, then a Truimph tripple, V-Rod and me on the Busa. Fastest we did was 60, then we stopped for lunch. Jim complained about the bumpy road and Manfred said we were going too fast. The Busa did not notice any bumps and all I can remember is back-roads with zero traffick, mean twisties and a 3 mile straight with grasslands on both sides. Guess where I will head back to soon.:-) My two shoulder angels did a good job and I listened by staying at the back and not twisting the throttle.

Sigh, why do we have to get old?

That could be easily misinterpreted. :poke:
