SCHNITZ MOD DELIVERS .2 IN 1/4

nice responces peter....well put....good replies!....you did your homework this time!

when you do this mod, put all your plates facing back in the same order and same direction or.....you'll burnem up!

Yes I suspect that putting plates back in the wrong order or even backwards is what's happened to some of the people who are having problems with the mod.

And that's a pity, because you don't even need to remove the plates to install the mod.

bike get's ran in greer,s.c. it's only 1/8 mile.Atlanta dragway is 75min. away!with 185lb rider my bike has gone low 6.30's at 115mph,with clutch mod, micron, and airbox mod.the bike has been remapped w/yosh box.

HEY FRANK, PLATES ARE FRIED LIKE CHAR-GRILLED HAMBURGER!FIBERS AND STEELS ARE BLACK,THE FIBER AT THE BACK NEAR HUB IS FIBERLESS.THE STEEL WORE A GROOVE IN THE PLATE.LOOKS LIKE A DOUBLE FLUSH OF OIL AND FILTER WHEN EVERYTHING GETS PUT BACK TOGETHER.

Now that I remembered my password....
In the original Sport Rider test, they made as many passes as it took to run the 9.97.
After the installation of the mod, they went back( on an admittedly thrashed busa)to make several passes to check out the difference.
Apples vs. oranges! I have personally not heard of anyone only picking up .12 in the quarter. Most see more than that in the 60ft alone. A typical improvement is .2-.3.

Brock

ps. The 2000 Busa has the same clutch set-up as the original.

Brock are you aware of any changes in the 2000 busa other than color?

Throttle bodies ?

ECU ?

Have you recieved any returned clutch mods due to mfg problems, there was a guy here who said he purchased a mod clutch that went south(not the plates)and ended up with a bent oil pump gear?

Pete, thanks!
(Just trying to find out what type of person you are.I learned the hard way that some people wait with handshakes.....others with knives.)
Kawabuser, It is very easy to break the oil pump gear if the basket is pulled out to far upon disassembly and then not re-aligned properly with the mating pump gear during the assembly process. Most notice that the nut barely fits on the shaft and correct the problem before tightening it.(otherwise SNAP!)

Brock

ps. I will know more about the 2000 as soon as everyone else.......the moment that they un-crate the first one.( untill then, everything not clearly defined by Suzuki literature is just speculation)

brock: thats the second time in less than a week i seen you say something about "apples and oranges".
are you on a fruit diet?...lol

ps...vicki said hi
.....frank

EVERYBODY START CHECKING THE OUTER CLUTCH BASKET BEFORE INSTALLING THE CLUTCH MOD.APPARENTLY THERE WAS TO MUCH PLAY IN THE BASKET FROM ABUSE OF STOCK LOCKUP,SO WHEN I INSTALLED THE MOD THERE WAS LITTLE MORE PLAY THAN NEEDED.I THOUGHT I CHECKED IT,BUT I GUESS NOT GOOD ENOUGH,RATS!SO IF YOU HEAR EXCESS NOISE WHEN PULLING IN AND OUT ON THE CLUTCH MOST LIKELY IT'S THE BASKET.I BURNT MY CLUTCHES NEW ONES ARE COMING AS WITH INNER,OUTTER BASKETS AND STEEL PLATES

busa: i hope your not planing on putting those bad plates back in there.

you could make a zx-12 "bulls eye" game with those.

i know theres a guy on "dragbike.com" that would probably buy one of those.

Brock, I was pointing out to others that you, being the source of the mod, are "the horse's mouth," and if they had any questions, such as KawAbuser's above, this is their chance to ask them.

Was that not fairly clear?

As you can tell from my posts above, I am more than satisfied with the mod. Thanks for making it available.

Pete

who would have ever thought that after running a time like that, and still get sent to the trailer.
i know what you mean about the boards and lie detectors.
i ran into a head gasket problem with the busa and we think we know why, but wont be sure untill after the weekend.
i was trying to do a little break in on the motor before we started to get serious with the dialing in, and believe me, it needed to be dialed really bad! only saw 185rwhp with out the ram air fans on. i think thats kinda low but from what i understand, the stock cams and fuel pressure are really hurting the performance. now the other thing is that, after we install the cams, the next problem is going to be the rev limiter. the motor is going to be building power and wanting to run well past where the limiter shuts it off. damn...stock ecm's. where's my dyna 4,000 and electrons?
i'm checking the capatibility of the 750's ignition before i give up on the efi.
oh well...i hope to have it ready for gainsville. need to get it down the strip before the snow flies.

Frank,
apples,oranges.....fat,skinny...whatever!- the only thing that really matters are the numbers that show up on the boards!
( they are the true lie-dectectors!!!)

Brock

ps hi vicki, I enjoyed talking to you and frank at indy. (The weather sucked!,almost as bad as running an 8.21/175..... and getting beat!!!)

Frank,
I have designed/manufacture an external crank pick-up for my EFI GXSR 750 (Schnitz has them in stock) that allows the use of a standard "Hall Effect" two magnet rotor( I use a zx-7 dyna plate, just for the irony!) to trigger a Schnitz Superbike Box. The system works with the factory fuel injection and a Dynojet power commander. With this package You have the ability to controll all aspects of performance from injection mapping to nitrous progression, ignition curve, high limit, 2-step,kill time for the shifter, etc.etc.etc!

Brock

ps, of course I made sure the same technology can be(and has!) applied to the Busa.( aint no dummy ya-know)

brock: thats good to know. i guess i should have takin you up on your invatation to look at that setup when we were at i.r.p
can you e-mail me a phone # so i can speak with you in short on this? i'm not a 100% sure yet that i'll be able to make it to gainsville.
thanks, frank
