+1 I usually do a search before I buy anything,although I usually buy from my local shop do to the fact that I get great deals and even better advice so I try to keep my $$$ local unless I know I can get it directly from the manufacturer for either the same price or cheaper.And like you said most of the time you are buying 3rd party already Schnitz does have alot of nice things but they are usually someone elses product with there packaging.Remember anytime you are looking for parts allways do a search. even when you see something on ebay just get the maker and do a Google search. because when you order from Schnitz all they are doing is getting it from someone else and saleing it to you. they are the middle man making $ for notting.
Take Pipecity. this guy is only 2 blocks from me. all that he has in stock is a cataloge to order from. I asked him about Brock Gen3 his price was 85 bucks more than calling brock myself. & he wanted 50 bucks more for the PC.so I ordered them from Brock and talked Brock what a smart guy.

I don't have any first hand knowledge on the problems you guys have had so I can't make any comments or excuses...

We do offer many products that are produced by other manufactures. We are a distributer for many of the products you buy and can offer them at a discounted price with fast shipping. We try to stock everything we sell, but sometimes that may be only be one or two. If one of our dealers calls and orders them, it may take some time get more coming. Many of our manufacturers are independend guys wanting to sell there products... this means they make them at night, after hours, or on the weekends and it may take a few days or even weeks for them to send us our orders.

Cache, I have had simaler experiences from them. The only way I buy from them is if they have a trailer set up at the track. Otherwise I would never order from them over the phone or online again.without going into details about the past problems with them,
most recently....
on 9/21 I ordered an extended chain guard from them online. Got a call from them saying they don't have any, and they are backordered.
I asked on 9/22 for them to credit my credit card. they said okay.
I still have not got my money back.
This makes 3 effed up orders in a row with them. I will NEVER order from Schnitz again, and I will let everybody know.
I agreeThis is the best statement ever made-"i like to go to local shops to buy parts.sure it always costs a little more but it keeps the money in my local economy and it something goes wrong i can get up in somebodys face instead of yelling on the phone and feeling helpless".This helps keep us little guys going and you can always walk in the door with your problem,that's why companies like Schnitz have us around cause they can't handle every problem in every state in one day.Work local,Spend Local,get your problems solved right at home.
same issue with responding to my emails. I hope they hold a staff meeting and crack the whip on the customer service folks.I've wanted to buy from them a couple times but each time I sent an email with questions I never rec'd a reply. Too busy for a reply, I'm too busy to shop there.
