School shootings root cause is different for each one, but all have a common thread. Mental illness. Until we as a country (it will never happen) address this root cause, you can expect more. Also, our Congress has never dealt with the real issue, and again, never will. Just the reality, my friends.
I agree. Mental illnesses has to be discussed when it comes to gun ownership. Sadly don't think it ever will under Federal law. One thing I think might help is raising the age of ownership for semiautomatic rifles to 21. When I think back on it I think between 12 and 18 is probaly age where the most agressions towards others are. HS years I think just about everyone wanted to off someone they know, deserving or otherwise. HS is a stupidly hostile environment, perhaps the most hostile enviroment many individuals will encounter, and being able to be armed right at the peak of it seems to be a bad idea. Once you graduate and go to Uni outside of your parents influence, you start meeting girls that don't know who you are since you were a kid, get a job, get a true sense of independence and freedom of mobility. You can choose to get away from that which disturbs or threatens you, which as a child you were unable to. All that aggression and the aggressors from HS just fade away.
