Hi guys, the time has come to clean the injectors on my busa. I dont know if I should go with a good FI cleaner or go with seafoam. I heard sea foam does wonders for people so I am leaning more towards it, how much seafoam am I supposed to pour in with a full tank of gas? I know there are a few diff bottles of seafoam which is the right one?

-and oh yea, if my bike starts blowing out a hurricane of black smoke is this normal or something i should be concerned about, because all the videos on seafoam i have seen do exactly this.

i use seafoam on my bike alot. i just add 1/2 can with a full tank of gas. it wont blow out any smoke just putting the stuff in ur gas. when u see the huge cload of white smoke, tats cause people put it in their brake booster vacume line.

I use it in my cars alot as well. for cars u put it in the brake booster line that goes to the engine. i havent dont it to the bike yea, cause there is no brake booster vacuum line, so idk where exactly 2 pour it into it.

It cleans engines too. Before an oil change, pour 1.5 ounces per quart of oil into the crankcase and go for a MILD 1/2 hour ride. Then change oil while still hot. It will keep the new oil cleaner longer 'cause the junkin the engine gets flushed out. Use it on the bike and the diesel truck.

No real need to use the stuff in the crankcase IMHO... oil changes should keep the internals plenty clean..

For injector cleaning? I prefer Techron.. (used per instructions and use the entire bottle, I think it takes 3 tanks of fuel to use the bottle)

+1 I use this stuff every few thousand miles in my cars and trucks but not yet in the bike. I refuse to mix anything in with my oil but thats just me

ok just bought the motor treatment bottle. so after i pour half the can into a full tank of gas am i supposed to let it run for a while...rev it? should i drive it after i put the seafoam in until the tank is empty? thanks.

on the can it just says one can treats 30-95 litres of fuel. and my bike full of gas is 21 litres. once i pour it in what am i supposed to do though? let it sit for a while or go and drive it around until i waste that tank of gas?

just ride like normal...after you refill, add the other half...no need to waste fuel..

keep in mind that cars have 14G+ tanks and so get the entire can for the same amount of cleaner, so a bike needs to use 2-3 tanks of fuel.. I suggest once a year for cars...

Best bet is to wait till your gonna put gas in put in your seafoam then fill the tank it'll mix and then your good to go ride and let it do the rest.

ahh, so i do have to use the whole bottle of seafoam. so half can in a full tank of gas...then once this is spent, the other half in another tank of gas and that's it?

IIRC, Seafoam's recommended ratio is 1oz per 1gal of fuel. So, it should take you at least 3 fill-ups to use the can of Seafoam.

im not too good with the volume conversions so if its 1oz per gallon of fuel and my tank hold 21litres how much seafoam do i pour in for 21litres?

no I think it's about 1/3 of the bottle per tankfull so taht woudl be about 1/6 of the bottle if your half tankin it. so break it down by ounces per bottle divide by 3 ( full tank ) or 6 (half tank) and that should make it easier for you figure out how much in ounces you need to put in.

scuse my spelling as I go you'll find I can't type to save my life, and I'm on a computer half the day go figure.

ok so thats less than half the bottle per full tank of gas. thanks. cant wait to use this stuff
