great post !!almost cried i was laughing so hard !to him your on a busa site to be fair you should have mentioned what it was as theres alittle bit of difference between the bikes!and to mr smith your advice was good to bad it was wasted on the katana kid lmfao!

The best way to ride a really great " Wheelie" is to run it to 140 or so in 6th and when you are at that speed drop it 2 gears and do a full on throttle at 105-110 indicated.
You will loft like the space shuttle, try to hold on and stand up.
You will then know the power of the " Busa"
Go snatch the pebble!!!!!!

How far are they from belleville?
They both live in Wood River.  Bob is the Postmaster of the Wood River PO. Drop in and say hi sometime.  Here is their website: http://www.stlar.com/

Take care,

Postal. (Yeah, I work for the Postal Service too).

How about "Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya..."

I guess it's too late to ask for a Group Hug.

Hi Him,

I also ride a Katana 600....at just over 470lb dry weight the Kat is too heavy to wheelie esp with the stock gearing....changing the gearing by adding 2-3 teeth at the rear or dropping 1-2 at the front sprocket is one way to resolve this....however, you will notice speedo error ranging from 10-15mph...and will also affect your top-end speed.

You may want to check out katanaplanet.com....you will find several answers there....however, let me caution you that katanaplanet.com advocates safe riding and they don't take too kindly to wheelie questions...when you ask a question about a wheelie, be sure to indicate that you are going to wheelie only in controlled environments and not on the open roads.

Another thing you might want to be careful about is the strain the weight of the Kat will place on your forks when your front-end does come down...

Otherwise ride safe and keep the shiny side up...

Peace

I didnt realy want to do anything extra to the bike since i planed on selling it next season so i will just refrain from attempting them. But thanks anyway. Him: No, we aren't vets, just older guys who have been riding most of our lives. Wood River is located just south of Alton. From Bellville, If you go to 270 west, take the the rt 3 or 111 exit north. Wood River is just north of Hartford off rt 3, and just past Roxana off 111. Check Mapquest.

Take care!

Him, checkout www.stuntlife.com for wheelie tips on any bike.  With the right technique, you can wheelie almost anything.

As far as wheelieing the Busa, the guys are right.  I've had many bikes and the Busa is the easiest to loft because you don't need to clutch it

.  In fact, it's too easy on a Busa, that you'll loop it with stock gearing (17/40) if you're not respectful of its power.
