Sexy Rear

When I first saw the K8 at a trade expo I thought 'bloody designers.....look what they've done to that rear end, ruined!'
I always liked the 'Busa but never owned one. Over the next several months I kept reading articles on it and then seeing it in shops and was amazed how much it had grown on me. It just goes to show that those 'bloody designers' aren't so stupid after all.
Last weekend I was sitting outside a bar in the sunshine chatting to friends and an older 'Busa pulled up and parked rear quarter on . Just one look and I realized I FAR prefer the new shape now over the rear of the 'Busa I originally fell in love with.

I never liked the Gen1 butt, the G2 i do like a lot, could be better? totally, but for me is like if the G1 butt was designed like in the earlies 80's or something.

The whole new design is just downright brilliant. It is weird that when I first laid my eyes on my 2000 Blue/Silver in the dealership back in April of 2000 I was not to keen on it. But when I put my leg over it and drove it out of the dealership and got home. I dont think I left the garage for an hour. I just stared at it and thought it was beautiful!

Now, 8 years later when they unveiled the new Gen II's, I instantly fell in love with it. The design is superior over any other bike out there. When I ride her, I am king of the road in knowing i am piloting the fastest moving vehicle on the road. What an awesome feeling!!!

I agree with you. The Gen I looks outdated compared to today. But then again evolution is in constant motion!

I've seen a Black '08 on one of the other forums with a custom exhaust, exiting out the signal light holes.
I can't seem to find it now but, I must say it's a very clean looking concept.

I was like everyone else when I first saw the 08 tail. What were they tinking? I loved the rest of the bike, so I didn't let the tail stop me from buying it. After stretching, lowering and removing all the extra goodies, it has grown on me. Now I'm glad I didn't. I still have a little problem with rear turn signals. They remind me of a fat guy whose wearing his belt too tight.

You know, bulbous. LRG has a custom 08 Busa with a Gixer 1000 tail grafted on it. Has anyone seen that? Lots of really nice custom work. Not all of it is my taste, but I do like the tail. I wanna get a spare tail and try that. No fat guy there.

I didn't care for my Busa's tail "tucked" down behind the fender, so I modified it today. Gave it a nice clean look.

I picked up my 08 on a Wed night from the dealer. Just so happens its a cruise night lots of riders lots of opinions. Some kid begins to tell me how he just can't stand the new rear on the bike. I mean he is real adament. I stopped over before taking off and just told him he should probably get used to it soon it's the only angle of that bike he'd be seeing in the future!

I didn't like the gauges, the front or the rear in the mags.

The minute I saw one in the showroom, I bought it.
