Shaky Mirrors 08 Busa

I'm sure alot of you notice when your idling they move around alot, even when riding. I use my mirrors frequently and find that its kinda annoying, distorts the vision alittle and want to do something about it so I can use them efficiently to see clearer. I'm sure its a cheap fix too and would really like to take care of it.

I know I read somewhere on these boards about what to do to eliminate the mirrors from vibrating and shaking around so much, but what exactly do I need to buy? I think I read something about rubber ring pieces inserted somewhere on the mirrors, can someone please direct me to what I need to do to get rid of the shakiness?

I'm sure this is something I can find at home depot or lowe's. Do you have a part #, or maybe a picture of the pieces? Perhaps a pic of where to insert them on the mirror holders? Thanks!

Funny... but seriously not looking to attach something to the helmet. Just want to find out what I need to get to fix the mirrors on the bike from shaking so much.

Not sure there's much you CAN do...any mirrors are going to have a resonating zone and shake atcertain rpm. try shaking your head at the same speed the bike is shaking:laugh:

Or do like i do...if you don't see flashing red and blues...twist it!!:beerchug:

I don't think there is to much that be done either but I read somewhere that something can be inserted onto the bars that hold the mirrors that will absorb most of the shakes. Just trying to figure out what pieces they are and where to get 'em.

only prob with that is if it's soft enough to reduce shaking at idle, then it's soft enough to increase shaking at speed.

I think they just need alittle re-enforcement, if it can slide under the plastic covers that holdup the mirrors that will work best if they are not visible, if anyone knows of anything that works good, please advise. I'm going to guess some sort of thick rubber washers would help maybe?

I put the 3/4" spacers on mine and only notice a little vibrations.. but again i only had very little vib on the mirror without them

Mine do not shake any at all. Nor does mine vibrate except you can feel a little in the tank.

What year do you have? For me it seems like sometimes they shake violently and then sometimes they hardly vibrate, mainly idling I get the most vibration though.

I have a 08 and sometimes I do not even notice that they are vibrating. But again it is a very smooth bike and i am very glad for that :please: becaus what I had been reading some bikes like vibrate like hell

Maybe some of the 08s are missing pieces, lol I dunno, but sometimes its not as bad as other times, I'll figure somethin out though, thanks.

Don't have any problems with mine shaking. Did you check to make sure they were tightened sufficiently?

My mirrors do not vibrate noticebly.
Are you sure its not you shaking with fear?

Pine???

try a bit of electrical tape around the base of the mirror which will create a little buffer. it will reduce it a bit but not cure it. my gen 1 does it as well.
