Shinko tires for 200mph

Do not run a soft compound tire at an LSR event. please please please.

Stock tires will do you fine at stock pressures. It's your safety you're talking about here. If you want to save the money for a turbo, that's totally cool - just don't run LSR. Worst case, borrow some stockers from somebody and have a ball.

Okay, so I got a Dunlop qualifer 190/55 from a friend of mine for free:cheerleader:. My next question is do I have to replace the front tire. I have a shinko u soft in the front.
Do you plan on your front tire going the same speed as your rear?

This must be a case of more balls than brains because i get my 06 up to its 180mph max around the DC area all the time with a shinko on the rear. It wasnt my choice of tire but while in the burn-out pit at Myrtle beach i blew up my Battle axe and they had a shinko take off at Red line for $30 so i took it. Its seen 180 at least 10 times It says 73-w on the side whatever that means.

i use the 2ct battleaxe....021 i think it is. Ive run top speed on my 2000 busa (about 195 indicated, prolly closer to 175-180) quite a few times and no issues like the pictures above. I know my tire is hard compound in the middle.

Saw a set of those Shinko's at BUB. Was wondering how they would hold up. Now I have my answer. The guy who had them was using an 06 Busa in the Run Whatcha Brung class so probably never got over 170. They seemed good for the salt because their tread pattern was nearly paralell to the axle. Looked like they would dig in better. BUT, I'm sticking with my Pilot Powers.
