Shipping times

I order a lot of various stuff online for my computer business and my hobbies (not to mention the bike).

I have found that virtually all the companies charge the same rates for shipping but use vastly different shipping speeds.

For instance, I ordered 3 items on the 9th

I have one in hand, one that says shipped and the other that I never got any notice on...

I have a list of "fast shippers" I tend to stick with as I am pretty impatient when it comes to some stuff (work supplies or toys)

Do you ever choose a merchant based on shipping? (any merchant that does free 2nd day upgrades gets my instant attention). Or would you every bypass a merchant that you know is slow shipping?

if its a merchant that is notorious on slow shipping i will go elsewhere.

I want my stuff, but I usually know how long it takes. Depending on when I need it, I don't mind slow shipping too much. Sometimes I order stuff and forget about it, it's like Christmas when it comes in

However, I do watch anything I buy on Ebay.... And bug them if it doesn't ship!

I have gotten things from overseas faster via Postal service than from a few states away via UPS. Cheaper too.

Vendor still has to get it there though.

In my experience most shipping is actually pretty fast... usually a few days or a week at most. It's the companies that take their time getting your order out the door that irriatate me.

I like the USPS for a lot of items. One time I ordered one item on monday and the other on thursday. The monday Item was shipped UPS the thurs. item was shipped USPS. I got the thurs. item sat and the monday item the following monday.

Even now I am waiting on my helmet from the group buy and the tracking says it arrived in maumee OH this morning. Still it is not scheduled for delivery till thurs.

i have learned to take my time cause anything sent to us here no matter whats always seems to take any where from 10-21 days...

I wear almost exclusively Land's End slacks and shirts at work, and I loved it when they shipped everything 2nd Day Air for same as regular UPS. Without fail if I ordered it Tuesday it was at my door Thursday.


Then Sears bought 'em...
