No offence here...just my opinion. I'd narrow silver down to razor sharp so when you look from distance? there's only blk base with candy apple red flames on it but there is something on the edge of the flames so if you look closer there is silver outline hiding in there (you can make the silver line more on the tips and thinner on the side more like 3d effects)...now blk and red will eat silver naturally,
you can put chrome kanji and that will be pretty nice...

good idea about thinning out the silver in the middle and "blading" it out towards the points. the kanji will be ghosted in the red like ghost flames.
