That isn't what it feels like.(rocktober @ Sep. 11 2006,20:10) 06 busa here ..........i had that happen to me last month, i was excelling in 4 th gear and all the sudden my bike seem like it jumped into another, my wrench said it was probabily was'nt in gear complety so it jumped to the next closest gear, not to worry it was common
Sorry girl but that is the EXACT same thing mine did and it turned out to be the bones(LadyHawk @ Sep. 13 2006,05:45)That isn't what it feels like.(rocktober @ Sep. 11 2006,20:10) 06 busa here ..........i had that happen to me last month, i was excelling in 4 th gear and all the sudden my bike seem like it jumped into another, my wrench said it was probabily was'nt in gear complety so it jumped to the next closest gear, not to worry it was common
Not mine anway.
Mine always happens in 2nd gear. I'm in first, I pull in the clutch, pop it into 2nd, let the clutch out and it's like a hesitation.. no high revs, just "uhhhhhh..." then "vroom".. about a 1 second lag before the power hits.
When CorrodedAlien rode it, he said I need to bleed the clutch. Which I'll probably do this weekend. Then I'll see how it acts.
Mine was covered, the replaced all the gears and forks.(guido4512 @ Sep. 13 2006,07:00) Man, this sure is troubling......................
Every day I see more and more "It slips when in 2nd gear" threads.
If mine gives out I'm gonna be HELLAPIZZED!
7 year transmission design = CRAP?
Man, this is not right. Then the dealers are telling everyone "oh yeah thats not covered - you were obviously abusing yer bike. " and " well, since youve modified your bike I think the factory warrraty has been voided", and so on........................
Oh I could just KISS you Gunny!!!!(Gunnybusa @ Sep. 13 2006,11:12)Mine was covered, the replaced all the gears and forks.(guido4512 @ Sep. 13 2006,07:00) Man, this sure is troubling......................

The problems above are not clutch slippage but gear slippage, the bones are failing and the bike jumps out and then back into gear.(jimzu @ Sep. 15 2006,18:15) My '06 LE clutch slipped also at 500 miles. Likely due to the metallic turbine like item under the fairing... 40 lb springs cured it temporarily.
Yet again another endless cry baby thread with no answers as to what actually cured or fixed it or any updates LOL oh my goodness I'm ready to set this good time bike on fire. Mine does this slipping poop but not only in second it does it in third and sometimes and fourth even when cruising and rolling into the throttle it's not the second gear or no fork crap. I just wish somebody a goddamn motorcycle mechanic or a tech would actually answer with a final fix I hate this good time piece of poop bike I'm ready to get the ugly 22 just so I can have a good time warranty
Ill have anyone ride it, it happens in most gears now and is super annoying, like I said it feels like someone slipped in the clutch lever for a MICROSECOND or cut the power briefly.Where are you located?
If you would let me or another one of us here ride it, we could probably find the cause.
I understand what you are saying too, you have explained it well, but at some point some issues need to be personally experienced to be figured out.
I can tell you that after 33 years of working on so many bikes, frustrated as you are...you are not alone.
Guaranteed it's something simple, and sometimes that just takes fresh eyes to find, regardless of how good at wrenching anyone is or isn't.
Maybe one of us is close by and can give you a hand.
Almost forgot I am in Sicklerville, NJ 08081.Ill have anyone ride it, it happens in most gears now and is super annoying, like I said it feels like someone slipped in the clutch lever for a MICROSECOND or cut the power briefly.
There is NO way this hasn't been fixed when the guy I ride with (06) has the same issue not as bad as me, so I know for a FACT this is a common Busa issue. Mine was only 5th or 6th before rollliing into the throttle it would "JUMP" now the other day it happened 2x in 1st when I ripped on it lol
NEW gen 2 OEM clutch, polished rod, Carpenter clutch mod with heavy springs, rebuilt slave and master, dot 5 fluid properly bled. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT except this, this did happen when stock clutch, slave and master was in tact. It seems to be getting worse.
That's a real head scratcher, it seems you have covered everything as far as the clutch goes...Ill have anyone ride it, it happens in most gears now and is super annoying, like I said it feels like someone slipped in the clutch lever for a MICROSECOND or cut the power briefly.
