yea, I am not a big fan of the coolant filled housings myself.. they are heavier, more plumbing and more potential for leaks.. I am going to venture that Chrysler was one of the first "mass" producers that used them in any numbers.

Also, on the remote possibility that there is cross contamination (coolant is an oil dispersant) I think it is just another avenue for failure..

Im taking mine to Jay Stedman for a stage 2 when the parts get in, probably about a week. About the cooldown, is that just for the dragstrip or if Ive been riding at no boost for the last 15 min do I still need to let it idle before shuting down? I dont think Ive heard that before but it makes sense, even to me, THANKS.

As far as engine heat (and oil temperature) is concerned, your turbo will be the hottest component on the bike - whether or not you just came off a fierce pass at full boost, or your rode slow for the last mile or two, you should still idle the bike a little . . . those who have ball bearing turbos will recognize that the "whoosh" they hear of their turbo still spinning after they have shut down their motor, although it sounds great, is really not a good thing done too often.  I always let my F250 Turbo-Diesel idle for a minute or so as well - its a good habit to get into regardless

I agree with ron duback. Let the turbo idle for at least 1 min. Clogged oil lines are no fun.

As for the water cooled turbo... I haven't seen water cooled/oil lubricated turbo leak fluids between the two systems. What I have seen is oil leaking from the thrust bearing into the compressor housing due to being put under extreme stress caused from pushing the turbo too far outside of its efficiency range. The water cooling will prolong the life of your turbo!! If a company has a kit built and tuned for specific results do not push it outside of that limit and you will not have any problems.

Stopping in from SR20-Forum.com, and SR20forum.com

Don't waste your time or money with SBR Inc. Their quality is shite, and their customer service is lacking in MANY ways.

They have 16 complaints filed with the BBB, in which they aren't even an accredited company, (though they're on the Inc. 500 list.)

Their turbines are not their own. Nor are they genuine Garrett/Turbonetics turbines. They are Kinetic Motorsport turbines, which are basically knock offs from Garrett. Please do some google searching on them in DSM forums, and others.

Two thumbs down from me. Buyer beware.

Slowboy racing is well respected in the Honda automotive comunity especially when it comes to turbo charging. The owner of Slowboy, his brother is the one that is running TBR. Turbo Bike Research.. good group of guys and stuff works great for the money spent.

Water cooled center section is basically for longevity of the unit. Smart in my opinion.. take it for what it's worth. But I will probably spend my cash with Velocity Racing, being I've spent time with B.H. on the customer service stand point of things and that goes along way with me.
