Ok. got my filter today. Followed the simple instructions, installed the gasket inside the airbox, then the one on the outside lining it up with the holes. Go to drop the filter in and no matter what i do, the wholes will not line up. I can either tighten both on the left side or both on the right but not all together because the holes are way off, cant even force it. The center whole will not even line up at all! Really pissed as I had to rip the gaskets off and put the stock filter back on. Since I ordered it online, even if they will take the return i will have to wait for a replacement. It just seems like the stock screws are just a little too short or something with the gaskets installed. Has anyone gotten longer screws? What size are the stock ones? Its really irrelevant because the gaskets were ruined when i had to peel them off.. has this happened to anyone else?

By the way, it is the right part number i checked it against K&N website just to be sure..

I have too use my dremel tool to get it to fit. I made the hole where the filter go in a little bigger.

I used all of the gaskets and everything lined up. Reused the stock screws without a problem. Are there differences in the airboxes between the years? Or maybe you didn't get the correct one.

+1 - no problems with mine; used both gaskets & stock screws.

well, i am able to get it to line up without the gasket inside the airbox but that took alot of work.. is it safe to ride without that inside gasket or not? I am concerned that debris could get sucked up under it into the engine? I still havent heard back from the store i ordered it from online. I dont want to take a dremel to the airbox because if i ever decide to put a stocker back in then it wont seal correctly..

I would have modified the filter vs. the airbox, but I think I would be sure I got the right filter first.

The model number is correct for all years of the busa its the same. Just doesnt seem to line up properly with the inner gasket installed. If its safe to run without it then thats what i will do unless the dealer takes it back for an exchange..

+1 +1 mine worked fine maybe some one switched filters from boxes. The number on box is right but not the filter. This happened to some one I know once.
