There is so much hype about a new busa being released in 08, that will out do the 13.5, should i start to consider selling my bike in preparation for its release?

HYPE is all it is

The 08, I think, will be upgraded and improved. Why wouldn't it? Yeah, we thought the 07 would be too.

Why not upgrade the one you have now for better preformance. The difference between a new one and yours is what you need to consider.

Sales tax.
Depreciation.
License fees.
Low trade in. (more than likely)

Just something to think about.

My general rule is to NEVER buy the first generation of anything.

I let the manufacturer work the bugs out and then I buy USED and save the depreciation and headache.

Good point. I bought the first year of the newly designed Goldwing. (2001)

Had many recalls but one thing is for sure. Honda treats GW owners first class all the way. Follow up letters and phone calls.

It is Honda's pride and joy.

Keep it, buy the 08, and have two!

That's my plan.....

You're so spoiled Tom!

I've been here since 2003 and as soon as I bought my '03 Busa at the end of a sales year, I felt the hype...wondered if I should have waited a month or so, did I buy too quickly...since '03, EVERY YEAR is hype LOL

+1000, cept I'd buy new.

Personally, I'm just super happy to be back on a Busa after being away for a couple of years. I'm just going to work on mine a little bit at a time, and get it where I want it. Who knows, there may be another Busa number 3 in the future for me down the line. Anyhow, it will be interesting to see whats new with the 08, if anything. I definately wouldn't sell in anticipation of whats coming in 08. If you want to sell, you won't having any trouble selling the Busa.

+1, it works the same way with new GRPHX cards and processors and ram. They always release something completly new, and un tested to its 100% load or potential. Kinks and buggs are always found. I would hold on to your busa, and get the 08 if you REALLY need/want it. Other than that my next bike will be a track toy

But its your bike, do as you please

Keep your current bike. Why get rid of something you like for something you can't even see now?

You may hate the new design (if we even get one in 08). The new 1k looks like it'll be bad ass but i like the looks of the 05-06 better. Who knows what first year "bugs" a new design busa may have? The '99's and '00's weren't exactly perfect ya know.

Even if it's a 1500cc monster it's still gonna be limited to 186mph. It's like having a gun with a lock always on it. What's the point? '09 will be the year to have one since the restriction should be hacked out and there will be more aftermarket goodies out to untap a good chunk of that restricted power.

Maybe the other manufacturers will have a answer of their own in '09 too. Best to enjoy what you got and love now. Maybe mod it some too.

turbo the bike you have now, that way the 08 busa and the 13.5 will not be a match for you.

+100 NEW

Just add bng to yours and you'll have what the 08 will offer.........seeing is believing and until you see an all new busa, there aint one
