so whats streetbike+whats not?

I remember back when we had a 1/4 track near hear they had a similar class for the cars.. Was a lot of fun to watch...

They way they ran it had to registered with a tag on it, an original car (factory frame none of those custom tubular frames) adding anything to the existing frame was allowed 4 links or whatever

No NOS allowed (since it was illegal on the street)

They had to drain their gas tanks an put pump fuel in them, was done at the track.

The cars that entered had to go on a 5 mile cruise before the competition started. ( which was a cool cause you got a good look an ear full of them as they circled through the pits an cruise down the track together.

Guess what made it so much fun is to see what these guys would do as far as car building to go as fast as possible while still meet the criteria to run. There was no handy cap or bracket fastest car took the prize. There were 500-700 c.i. street cars with 2 or 3 radiators welded together running around the city for a while

maybe thats why they stopped it an closed the track down ???

That is how we started out with the cars, but when the price of race fuel ended up being $16 to $25 a gallon, and all they were winning was a couple hundred bucks, we cut out the cruise.:beerchug:

I've ran under similar rules and I feel that is a pretty good set. However, I would prefer the wheelbase to be a bit shorter. 65" is plenty long and would level it a bit for the guys with stock wheel base bikes.

The reason we made our rules 64" is because guys can do that with extensions, and not have to go buy an arm. What is sad is that we will have 20 guys with 600cc bikes there on friday nights but none will race
