dragon is more dangerous because of unclean road conditions other cars and bikes animals ect...

This is not intended to embarrass but to express and convey that the higher the speed the rougher it can be. At least two folks have recently gone down at LSR events that were purpose built and designed. This isn't Joe Blow out seeing how fast he can go and safety wiring his ride and taping his signals and head and tail lamps. Both men suffered terribly.

Wow that was jacked up, if seemed like he had a big bobble at 200+ then got it under control but hit the transition from the concrete at the end and it just pitched him off hard.

Hope he's ok cause it's not nice to get off at 100 MPH.:please:

After looking at both videos I would have to say that both are pretty up there on my bucket list.:please:
However, the full out track would be number 1 on the danger Will Robinson scale.

Here's why.
The tracks guard rails are designed for cars not humans traveling at 200+ miles an hour.
Stick a foot, leg, arm head underneath that and catch a post and it's coming unglued, and that is more certain than Death and Taxes.

So while Richy Rich is morning the loss of his 300,000 dollar Lamborghini I'll be praying that the ambulance driver is kin to Luis Hamilton and know a fast route to the hospital!:please:

The Dragon is bad but oh soo good in that it's really your choice as to how fast you go and on which part, if you really push it I guess it will eat you and your bike with ketchup :butbut: however it depends on what you want that ride to be, you can try to rip it or enjoy it.

The track ride is strictly business, you came there to rip it period, and that could led to someone riding just a little bit over their skill level.:banghead:

OK I gotta admit I just watched the LSR run, that was ugly from beginning to end, it was a handful after the first shift, never did get it to stop drifting left and did anyone else notice that the front end came up at somewhere around an indicated 260MPH?

Big ones. Big, round, hairy and made of some sort of steel/titanium alloy.

Out of the 2 videos I would rather be on the dragon but I believe it is more dangerous. My nads aren't big enough to go into and hold a curve at WOT like the 1st video. My mouth was dropped open for that entire video

I agree, a road is more dangerous for the variables that it has.
A track is safe if it's thinking for a motorcycles, without guardrail for example.

This video is a good example

That was cool. At first I was like wow look out for that bench and tree? Then I realized it was an example and not real.

I do 150 on the dragon, so your poll is irrelievent to me:rofl:

Right behind me :)

I remember that run and my gps actually showed a top speed of 157mph.

Too bad this was the result :(

I think I agree with Mat Mladin "It's the idiot on the seat that's the most dangerous"!

IMHO, a public road is more dangerous. Yes, there is ungodly speed at a LSR event. A get off at those speeds is ugly. However, that is one danger. In the event that does happen, you at least have emergency responders close by. Public roads hold many more variables. Trees, blind corners, cliffs, debris on the road, pedestrians, other motorists (including soccer moms during their make up while jabbering on the cell phone), animals, etc. To add to it, an ambulance can be many miles away, which also means a hospital is many miles away.

I've been going to the drag strip since before I got my drivers license (and I'm 37). I drive an 8 second race car. I also work at a body shop that has it's own tow company. We have towed in way, WAY more bikes that have been involved in fatality accidents than I've seen bikes go down at the strip, period. In all that time racing at the strip, I have only seen one rider taken away by helicopter, and he ended up living. I've lost count of how many bikes we've had at work whos owners didn't make it.

Guess it all depends. Guy at the road course gets up to about 170??? If you go 170 at an LSR event an go down you should be ok. But LSR ain't about getting to 170 and being satisfied. The faster you go the more likely to get hurt if it fails. But then again on a road course you sharing the space, isn't just about your skill and your machine. Bunch of other hoons out there with ya, getting knocked down or run over by another biker sucks. As for hooning it up on the public road it's only a matter of time.

A disabled car around a blind turn or tourist pulling out from a lookout spot and it's game set an match. More luck than skill in this kind of riding imo
