Get insurance, boys.  A cost worth the risk.

You right insurance does it. Knew a guy who chained his bike (like I do), and they used his surface grinder (with a thin blade) out of his tool box to cut the hold down(s). Also know of a custom bike stolen out west of of a garage and they used a small portable cutting torch.

The Kryptonite model was done in <30 seconds.

Funny thing, I may be over simplifying this, but if you watch the vid of them trying to cut the chain on their products, there is one critical difference.  The links they use appear to be so large that the cutters arms can't close far enough to get the leverage needed to cut through.  Simple physics.  That's a pretty good idea along with the hardened materials etc.  Of course the bolt cutter company would just need to redesign the cutters to get better compression leverage and the game starts over.

I suppose it'd be easier for a thief to just unbolt the rear wheel if they couldn't cut the chain. LOL Imagine coming back to where your bike was parked only to find your rear wheel laying there on the ground. Better loop it through the swingarm too.

It really does not matter what they say, I deal with tractor trailers alot and you sprat 3 cans of ether on it hit it with a sledge and it shatters. It happens to alot of truckers. These people stealing the trailers for aluminum. layered security and a good ins. policy is the only way to go.
