Some Lovely things...Photos I have taken...

Sweet Pics Train, That Fly is cool.  Now here is something funny (Maybe).  Equipment wise a mix but largely a Minolta Dimage 7I Digital, and an older Nikon 880.

My advice, do not buy a Minolta Digital.  It's nice but those flowers were shot with the Nikon.  I have the best luck with Nikon and Canon.
Thanks, Rev. Even though the depth of field on the fly shot is extremely narrow, I still like.

I agree regarding Nikon and Canon over Minolta. I've never owned a Minolta digital but I did do comparisons between all the different makes when I was buying all my cameras. I have a Nikon 990 that has been great, but I prefer Canon's colors and noise control better. I just couldn't warm up to the Minolta or Olympus look. Colors always seemed a little off or something, usually toward the blue/cyan side as opposed to the warmer tendencies of the Nikons and Canons.

Here's another shot of something that I definitely wouldn't call lovely, but I think it's my best portrait shot yet. For those that don't know this character, it is John Force, pilot of the Castrol GTX NHRA Top Fuel Funny Car. It was taken at the Atlanta Dragway with my old Canon D30 digital SLR. Now that was a schweet camera body!

How about an angel in B&W...

If this don't make ya want some chinese food, I don't know what will. I took my tiny little Canon S400 into the Chinese Buffet with me and took this one. I can smell the buffet now! :super:

Here's an interesting shot of a spider I found on my porch railing. I held the camera at an angle to make the rail run diagonal across the picture frame. I thought it turned out interesting.

Same spider, just a little closer. Not quite as sharp as I would have liked, but it ain't too bad.

And finally, just to get the flowery taste outta my mouth... a shot of some of my buds fightin' a mad blaze. For what it's worth, I got there before the FD and started takin' photos. By the time they got there, the whole house was burnin' like this. My pics of the early stages of the fire helped to convict the juvenile that set this fire. He had already burned two other homes and several cars in the area. Thanks to my pics, he's in an institution for treatment instead of out on the streets burnin' folks' homes and cars. :super:

Hey Thanks Postal, though I look at Bulletrain's stuff and I realize I need to work harder.

I am a graphics guy by profession and the ability to capture my own images comes in real handy...I enjoy it...
