Something isn't Right!

Instinct,is our most valued possession. Not always easy to discern or obey but never wrong! It is just hard to decide which path to follow. Your unease may last a few days or a few weeks,if longer, you may have bigger decisions to make. EITHER WAY DO NOT IGNORE THEM

I've had quite a few of that. Here are two of them. One time at around 5:00 am, for some reason, something told me to switch lane. Sure enough, there was a dead deer on the lane I was before. If I switched lane 2 seconds later, it could have been a disaster. Another one was I was less than 1/4 of a mile away from RT50 to Annapolis exit and it was like almost 9:00 pm. Something told me not to take the exit and just head straight home. Less than 15 minutes after I got home, a storm hit. I'm talking about pouring down rain with lightning and thunder. My street was like a river for a few minutes that night. If I stayed out, I would have been caught. So, the answer is "yes" I've had that feeling before. Oh yeah, here's a good one and it happened quite a few times whether in the car or on the bike. Whenever I don't speed like on 25 mph zone or something, or a curve, 90% of the time, there's a LEO sitting there waiting. I was like.....I knew it!!!

hmmm no, i only get that warm funny feeling when i dont get to ride. been riding for years and love it as much or even more than i used to. I do agree with slowing it down on the streets though iv gotten away from doing that crap.
+1 I think maybe it is because I ride almost every day year round...trust your instincts

as Don would put it, "Grip it and rip it" a 2 block wheelie often dispels any trepidation

I get this feeling after a rash of close calls. I find myself walking out to the garage and looking at the bike and thinking to myself I should ride today?  Then I pull the keys out of my pocket and jump into pickup.
Maybe it was the bike, the harley really did vibrate alot, my hands were numb after 40 minutes and my jawbone was vibrating in my head.
Maybe traffic here in Austin is really getting sick. Morning and evening traffic will make any responsible driver white nuckeled.

I read any information I can find about city traffic and how to survive. Most articles I read, I'm already following the advise. I do read them though you never know when you'll pick up a good piece of information that will make a difference in the outcome of a bad situation.

is not to worry and ride when you feel comfortable, remember you are a capable rider and have experience on your side.

Oh yeah FYI I had my motorcycle license at age 15. Rode this and that blah blah, I'm now 55 and getting the sportbike I want, HAYABUSA!

Just as soon as the dealer will release it for sale, I will pick it up.
I was 54 when I got my Busa...you will love it

This should be a stickey...

? Young and Older Riders.

Do you find yourself AFRAID to ride sometimes? do you get that funny feeling like today isn't a good day to ride.or do you cont, on or turn around and head back home for the car?

I have been riding for 30 plus yrs. drag raced for 3-4  of them. but here lately I find myself taking the car more and more. don't get me wrong I enjoy riding the bike when I do ride.

So do any of you guys get that feeling if so what do you do?
I look at the bike and throw the gear in the car. I look at bad feelings as an angel giving me a heads up.

I get it sometimes. MY BIKE gets it alot, LOL !!!! Sometimes my bike feels like a super bike, and other days I'd think I was on a 600 ??

I had that feeling when I was at the 07'spring busa bash. It was my first venture into deal's gap that time and something told me to take it easy. Sure enough, a few turns ahead, some idiot kicked out some debris onto the road(in a curve no less) and i would of been banked over at speed going through there otherwise. My boot caught some of the dirt and in a sweeping motion I kicked most of it off the road. After that I was alright the rest of the time.

So, if you decide to ride the cage one day because of a bad feeling, are you saying you just saw into the future or are psychic? If someone gets a feeling about when I should buy the winning lottery ticket, please call ASAP.

Everyone gets those feelings occasionally. Like this morning on my way to work, I had this feeling about not going to fast. I mean I'm usually on my way to work between 3:00 am and 3:30, and I usually really get on it. But this morning I had this weird feeling. Anyhow, I crusing along about 80 to 85 and I see a single light coming up on me really fast. I immediately slow down to around 70, and before I knew it, a motorcycle cop was behind me, and then he passed me. Kind of wierd.

It's happened to me twice, both times I ignored the twisting feeling in the pit of my stomach, and both times I got into a major accident (neither of which I was the cause of, the first being rearended while stopped on the FWY behind an accident, the second being hit at the same spot on the same FWY when some idiot lost contol and made a left into the center devider).
P.S. my wife told me afterwards that they where also the only 2 times she felt uneasy about me riding, if she ever feels that way again, you can bet I'll stay off the bike that day.

Riding down one of my Favorite Stretch's I was Behind a Real Slow Ford F-150. I looked Ahead and had Plenty of Room to Pass but Something Inside me Told Me it was'nt a Good Idea. A Volvo Pulled Right out in Front of the F-150 Right Where I Would have Been if I Decided to Pass.......

I've told none riders about my feeling of "don't ride now" and they think I'm nuts. I generally ride everyday on the street and only get the feeling a couple times a year. I have had the feeling and gone against it and changed my route.I ride dirt too and get the feeling a lot more often. Last time a riding buddy got the feeling of don't go riding and went anyway, he overshot a jump and woke up in the ambulance. The whole thing sounds kind of silly, but I really beleive there's something to it.
