sounds like a bee

I got a 05 busa with little over 12000 miles. The other day i heard a buzzing coming from the front. Sounds like it is by the forks or under the tank. Know one i have talked to can tell me what it could be.

Have you checked to see if it is the windscreen? Try pushing on it in different locations to see if the buzzing goes away.

Mine (stock) was buzzing when I got it. I just pulled it off and put some electrical tape around the mounting tabs that slide into the cowl...problem all gone!

i had the same noise with my windscreen. Thats not what it is. The best way to describe it is. Some Chevy trucks make that buzzing sound from the out side. Its ths same noise.

Whaddya expect from a Chevy!?!?

J/K, brah.

Hmm, dunno... Fuel Pump?

Does it occur when moving, when running, certain RPM?

Yeah, I'm stumped. Let's see...what could vibrate in that area???

OK, on the bottom of the cowl is a plastic piece that's held in with 6 of those black push-pins. Perhaps it's not secured in there and when you're movin' the air-flow is enough to 'vibrate' it??

Another thought...under the tank, in the airbox there's a vacuum-actuated flapper door. Under no vacuum (engine off) the door is open. When you start the bike, it closes and will then re-open when RPM is around 2600. Since this is under the tank...perhaps this is vibrating??

Is there a certain speed/RPM where you begin to hear it? If it starts when the RPM is around 2600...I would definitely look at the airbox...

it dosent start until iam at about 40mph. i just pulled all the fairings off and iam taking it for a quick run. thinking maybe its fairing noise. At least i hope so.

Is it the front brake pads? Does the noise go away when you apply the front brake?

could be i changed the pads a little before it started. if that is what it is it should go away after a little while, right?

Might have a trapped bee in there ..

OK .. I thought it was funny

Took all the fairings off and the nosie was still there. brake pads do rub but the noise dosent stop when brakes are applied. I wish it was a bee stuck in there. at least that would add 1 or 2 hp

This might sound dumb but are your keys making the noise? If not how about the wind screen?

Sorry man but its not the keys ? Were you at in CA? You close to MCB Pendelton?

Sounds like a resonance issue... Did you move/remove any cables, lines, or wires? did you loose any of the buton fasteners under the nose cowling? A buddy of mine had a similar issue, he took it to the dealer and they kept it for 3 days and gave it back with the noise. I found it, one of the fasteners was improperly inserted, it felt tight, looked tight, but was wrong and at speed it buzzed.
