Speeding ticket records.

Here in Phoenix they say the registered owner gets the ticket, but I have been flashed many times by photo radar and have never gotten a ticket. There was also a rider on a 954 that ran from a sherriff deputy. They have him on video, but since he was wearing a helmet and couldn't prove who was riding they couldn't do anything to him. The burden of proof always falls on the state.

Hey, my 121/50 doesn't sound too bad in comparison. And lawyer/fines of $3k+ are not too bad either.

Still was a pain in the neck...

az is one of the few states that they have to prove who was riding/driving/operating when the crime was commited. most other places its automatically the owners fault and the owner has to prove it wasnt him or her.

sounds like a plan , but the law seems to have changed in this country now, who ever the vehicle is registered to will get the ticket unless they are willing to give the name of the rider / driver at the time :rulez:

Sure, they can give a ticket to the registered owner, but they still have to prove beyond a reasonable doubt in court that it was actually you on the bike.

$2500 otd for reckless driving here in FL, lawyer and all. Wasn't doing over 90mph! I think the trooper's girlfriend was cheating on him with a much cooler motorcycle ridin mofo. That would explain his attitude he had with me.

WOW! A few of you guys got hit hard, need a better lawyer:poke: PM if you get in trouble again, ill send ya to my lawyer, he works miracles!

He made it a point that he had me on video tape during the whole traffic stop. I removed the helemt had a 40 minute conversation with him ect. I told him jail was not a stranger of mine, so it's all open at this point. But until the court date, tommorrow is another day. And tommorrow I ride.

I want to know about the whole incident. I can't imagine clocking someone doing 181 MPH. I doubt I'd turn around or drop it in gear. The highest I ever clocked was 101 in a 35.

I think the poster meant he wouldn't have waited.

I disagree I think stopping an waiting for it since you knew it was coming was a good idea. Yeah it's going to bad day but it can always get worse.

He starts calling on the radio trying to get help or eyes in the sky, any bystander or motorist or officer get hurt or killed you could be looking at manslaughter even though you were no where around or gotten pasted yourself.

Live an learn :dunno:

I dunno, if you have the balls to do 180mph+ on a public road, there shouldn't be much telling you to stop and wait for the cop to catch up and slap you w/ some big fines.

Way way back in the day I got charged with a felony attempt to elude in speeds in excess of 165mph in VA. $1,200 in fines, 3 days in jail, impounded my bike and loss of my license for 12 months. I was in the Navy at that time. The navy supplied my lawyer and got the felony down to a Mistermeanor. Then the Navy charged me again and put me on 90 days restriction and took some pay. Well I missed ships movement because I was in jail so that's why the send me to captains mast.
Not proud of any of that but that's my dirty laundry.

We have seen around 130's up here. Of course the fact people keep running in Ford Escorts may have something to do with it.:poke:

Still 50MPH on just rimms for 15 miles is impressive. They dug big furrows in the road.

I got a ticket for doing 60mph in a 30...
on a Bicycle...seroius!
What really ticked the officer off was that I had zero ID.....I told him no law says you have to have ID to operate a non-motorized vehicle...he didn't like that! So he wrote me up.

I took the court date and the Judge threw it out...told the officer he had better things to do than harass bicyclists! It's a small town and I saw the Judge a couple days later and stoped to thank him.....turns out the Judge was Eco/Green and rode to work on a bicycle!

He did say "try to keep it under 65, will ya"! Ha!

On a more serious note...I almost got nabbed doing 180mph (speedohealer corrected) up here...there was only two motorist on the road and one of them must of called me in...as I came up to the next exit, which are far and few between up here....I see a Tropper coming onto the Interstate opposite direction...I look in his direction and he is definetily looking at me when the lights go on....OS! Guess he thought he would sit and wait in the median for me to fly by......Little did he know I have Busa Power!
I hightailed it off the Interstate and parked it behind a restaurant, behind some cars in the employee parking and behind the Dumpster! I called the wife to come and get me!
Let me tell ya Paranoia will Destroy ya! I was afraid to ride for a week!

Gee Mr. Wizard what's the moral of the story: Well let me tell ya, a 99 Copper/Silver is way too bright and distinct to blend in even if there were tons more Busa's on the road up here...(which there isn't! I'm one of maybe 3 Busa's in a 50 mile radius) I'm gotta get a Black and Silver Busa! Yeah! now that's the answer!

I was coming down from 160 and the CHP got me for a 87 in a 55 zone. It cost me $439.99! He was parked if I would have kept going, I would have been in the next county befor he put down his paper work. I stopped out of RESPECT!
