speedo error

not perfectly accurate.
yes, the faster you go the further off it is.

If you really want to have accurate speed readings, go GPS.

Error is not consistent between bikes, so somewhere between 7 and 10% and yes it increases with speed.

add a speed o healer to correct. I was 9 mph off at 100 MPH
speed o healer fixed mine
being off adds un traveled miles on your guage as well

Are there different types of speedo healers?

Is there one specific for the BUSA?

Easy to install?

Cheaper than a GPS?

I just tested my and found it to be 8.5% off, tested it with a GPS at 60 mph, 70 mph and 80 mph, I find this not exceptable and would like to see Suzuki get a better handle on it. Looks like I need to get a speedo healer soon.

Hey streetntrack, thank's for the head's up. I contacted speedohealer.com and they sent me over to their US distributor calsportbike.com and they have it for sale for $89.99 without the remote cable. Is there any discount for being an org member?

I was reading up on the speedo-healer and I am bit confused as to the new version and what needs to be done. I remember the older versions having to be "calibrated" with the correct speed, is this still true with the new version? Also, I have an '06-is there any chance Suzuki fixed this issue with the new bikes? Looking to buy-just want to know what is involved before I do.

You need to know you're correction factor, like in my case -6.5%, then program the Speedohealer to correct the speedo's reading accordingly.

That's what you refer to as calibration. Either you use a GPS or road markers to determine you speedo's error first. Then you'll know your percentage required.
