Is there no other ways to calculate it?  I don't want to purchase a GPS just to find out how much my speedometer is off.

Go to SH's website and if it's not their it is explained in the directions alternative methods for timing that can get you pretty darn close compared to a GPS.

ditto.. if u dont have a gps go to the website. .. or borrow a friends. must do mod. 10% would be a good starting point.

How can you recall your top speed? I took a look at speedohealer.com but I didn't see any display on the unit.

Once you hit the recall button, the top speed shows on your speedometer.
