Speedometer error

I have an 04, and I see that the indicated speed ( radar checked) is off by about 10 MPH high. ( speedo reads 60, true ground speed is 50)
Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just mine?

Does anyone have any advice or luck with the speedo correction devices?

I have an '02 and my speedo is off by 10kmph over about 110 kmph (for example: indicated 140 is really 130).. I mounted my GPS on board and use that for my true speed. I believe most, if not all, Japanese bikes are like this.

Really annoying! My '02 is off by 7-8%.... reads 50 when actually only going 46...etc.. confirmed with a police calibrated radar unit....no problem though....It was when I worked FOR them before I turned coat and went to the fire dept.!

I have seen the yellow box advertised by black robitcs from austrailia. Whats the deal with Speedheeler i've never heard of that one.

Most are off about 10mph or about 7% if i remember correctly, and progressively gets worse as you move into the triple digits.. I've got a yellow box I'm adding because i changed the gearing and now its off about 20%. I'll let you know how it works out in a week or so

Vincent, can you explain what you mean here by GPS ?
I don't think you mean the standard Gear Position Sensor.
Is this another device that shows gear / speed / etc ? If so how is it more accurate ?

Really ? Wow - I was thinking about that but was convinced it was something else ..
So you can track your position & plot distance / time from that

cool stuff .. and very accurate.

My Speedohealer is on it's way, will post how it performs soon.

I have the same error, about 8-9% on my Busa. My previous Gixxer was about 7-8% off. I'm more concerned with the odometer error (reading higher than actual) than the speedo. I'm waiting on feedback from the group on Speedohealer versus Yellow Box.

50 MPH when speedo says 60, but I went to a 16 tooth from a 17 tooth gear. Didn't try before change

I've installed speedohealer (changed gauges from 185 mph to 220 mph).

It's really easy to use.
