squeeeeeeeeeeek....

anyone else have a squeeky front brake? it only does it during the last, dunno, few dozen feet of coming to a stop, moderate braking nothing crazy.

time for new pads i guess, digging up the correct vesrah's or something is sounding more and more like a better idea. bike is more or less perfect so far with like 2k miles but the brakes squeek like a 1940s ford bucket of bolts

gonna take some garnet sandpaper to the rotors maybe. or perhaps beat on it with hammers. that tends to fix stuff. honest, try it and see..

Mine does this occasionally, but I put it down to it being a fixed caliper with an aggressive pad formulation.
As someone with a Brembo equipped car, this common place and could be a sign of the rotors glazing over a bit.

Meaning you need to get out on a back road, and use the brakes a bit more.
Get some heat into them to get some pad material on the rotor to prevent this in light stops.

Race cars are notorious for noisy brakes, a set of Organic pads will eliminate the problem but take away from the amazing brake feeling of these Brembo stylema Calipers.

There might be some pad glazing going on. If you slowly put the brake on lightly until you stop, it may glaze and will cause squeaking due to the pads getting shiny and smooth. I read from professional car and track info, that if you hold the brakes lightly say going downhill, they will overheat and glaze. After the new pad BREAKIN, it is suggested to push the brake kinda hard and let go rather than feathering the brakes.

I bought mine second hand and have a couple thousand miles on it. It has this exact behavior. I did some harder braking to no avail. I have never pulled out pads but am doing maintenance and was thinking to torch the surface and see if that works.

Do not torch the friction material!!
You could rub the friction material on some 400 grit Emory tape on a flat surface to remove the hardened glazed layer on the pads.
Also, the shims on the backing plate of the pads are there to eliminate brake squeal.
Does yours have the shims missing?

Deglaze the pads, rubbing them on 400 grit Emory tape.

I always put a little brake slider lubricant on the backing shims and sliders.....on all my vehicles.

I note the brakes on my truck will slightly squeal if my sliders get dry.....but they are exposed to much worse conditions than my bike is.

Mine has done it since about 500-800 miles. I just say to myself "racecar brakes" and keep going.
