SRAD CAM CHAIN PROBLEM JC??

A friend bought a '99 srad 3 monhts ago (leftover). He now has the cold start rattle known for cam chain tensioner problems. My question is this ; is this a quick fix by tensioner replacement or is it too late and needs chain replacement.The dealer said it has a new tensioner installed. thanks

There was a recall on one year for the 600 and 750 I think it was 99 it was for a tensioner and a guide that runs on top of the chain.
I am not sure what year was which if some one know for sure please post or I can verify on tuesday.
Your Dealer can check to make sure it was done and when by computer and I would as Them to listen to it just for grins.
E-mail me with more info they do make a little when cold but funny you said maybe a new chain.
