sta-bil

Anybody ever have negative results with fuel stabilizer? I put some in my bike and powerwasher, now both of them are hard to start. Prior to stabilizer all was good. Any ideas?

I've use it for over 20 years (and sometimes it was in the bike for 1 to 2 years before I rode it

) and have NEVER had any problems

I've dealt with fixing bikes that had too much stabil in them.  A member here, wont mention his name, had problems with his bike staying running.  I asked him how much stabil he put in the previous year.  "The whole bottle"  WTF?

So yeah, too much will cause problems

Never had any trouble, but only used the amount indicated on the bottle as well. If you do have to store your bike for awhile, make sure you ride it after you add the sta-bil so it gets all the way through the fuel system..

I've never had any problems with it, I even use it in the dirt bike pre-mix with good results. Great stuff

A quick story about stabil. I bought a generator in 1986, after my first hurricane. I ran it every 6 months for the first two years. I always put stabil in it for the last 10 minutes of run time to get it into the carburetor.
About 18 years later Rita hit us. After the 2nd day back I new I needed electricity or go nuts. I had lots of time on my hands so I went to my shop got the old generator and some tools out to work on it.
Just before I took it apart I decided to try and start it, "what do I got to loose". Any way it started on the 3rd pull and ran every day for the next 2 weeks, until I got power back. I love the stuff!
I have to say I have never used it in my bike, it doesnt sit long enough to need it, but its in my 4 wheeler and all my mowers etc....

Just how long will gasoline last with out using a stabilizer?
Not sure if my situation was unique, but I have a 1969 Buick GS455 that sat without being cranked for 2 almost 3 years w/no fuel stabilizer and I rewired the starter and on the first turn of the key that 455 woke right up and that was a week ago and no issues. Runs as good as the day I stopped driving it.
Could it be the weather here in Hawaii?
Not sure. Just my .02 cents.
Aloha,
Scott

BTW-If I wanted to post pics of my '08 Busa as well as my other rides. How's that done?
