Stands

Hi all. To save myself from myself I will just ask here. Although I'm sure there are many answers
However which stands does the collective fine works well on the front. I'm sure the rear is somewhat universal. But I would appreciate opinions on both
Thank you.

I would recommend a front lift stand that lifts / locates under the bottom triple clamp ( center hole ) by pin . There should be plenty of manufacturers , but be sure to get one that is really well made and strong . With any front stand , the rear stand must be fitted first and rear also removed last , just a reminder !!

I am a fan of anything and everything PITBULL. I have had two Bursig stands and they are every bit worth the money. I would love to get an Abba Skylift...

The question is, what are you intending to do? If it is just cleaning, storage and maybe the occasional wheel removal, I would recommend PITBULL Rear stand and Front Hybrid. If you are looking to do any maintenance that involves removal of the swingarm or suspension components like the forks or rear shock, I would recommend the Bursig. If you have lot's of money then I would recommend the Abba Skylift, just because.

There are cheap stands and there are good stands... my experience is that for the most part, you can get one or the other. PITBULL has never let me down. from customer service to quality of construction, they are very tough to beat and can be found for sale reasonably.

Do not get a fork front stand. Get a triple tree one.
Rear is easy.
I got front and rear on craigslist for $50 together. They are plenty strong. Not sure of brand. Good looking tho.
New can be quite pricey.
Suggest to outsource locally.

My buddy made his own rear stand out of 1/8" thick aluminum square stock for his fz07. It flexs and bounces alot but does hold up the Busa.

I never understood the appeal of a front stand that lifts under the forks.
They are not very stable, keep the suspension loaded, and if you're lucky, you might be able to remove the front wheel.
Where as with a front stand that lifts under the lower triple clamp, you can remove forks and set up suspension, as well as that stand being much more stable and secure against a tip over.
My front and rear stands are Lockhart Phillips.
I also have a Bursig stand, and it is excellent!

Agreed. I got stuck with a fork stand, my first one. It is terrifying to put up and see sitting there. Fortunately I was able to get the front tire off but had to nearly remove the front fender completely. Easier to take it off for sure.

Also horror story. I had the front tire off on both stands. One forks side fell off. I had to pull on that spring to compress it and get the two prongs back on. I was successful but terrible thing is, there is a vertical piece that has to be upside down in order for the axle hole to be accessible. I put that on upside down...
I had to compress it again, get that side off, then turn that side of the stand back upside down in order to get the axle back in. I swore it was gonna fall. I should have bought a lottery ticket.
I swear, AS SOON as I reinstalled the front tire and twisted the axle a few threads, the bike fell off the front stand.
If that front tire wasn't on, I'd have been soooooo f*****d.

Just looked an PSR is the stands I have. They are great

Yep spendy thats for sure , my birthday is 2 days after Xmas so it made it easy to buy for me last year :D
And the Dynamotos make it sooo much easier to park and manoever about the garage

Means they will fit all then, i just bought a different fitting kit to suit my B King as i originally had it for my previous Gen 2.

What did they sell you? Just the bottom pin?
I switched my Bursig from my 08 Busa(which I bought the stand set up for)to my 08 B-King.
The only difference was the lower pin diameter, and my Dad turned it smaller in the lathe.
