Starting Issue

I think thats the same cleaner i have. It is a fast evaporating cleaner? I just had to use it on my rear brake switch actually... it was sticking and causing my brake lights to stay on all the time. Just have to make sure the cleaner doesnt conduct electricity and that it is dry before putting it back together and turning stuff on.

Cleaned the switch...
Issue remains...
And the saga continues.

Battery still reads 12.5 and has not been on tender.

I will trace the switch wire and try to tackle it from that end.
Could just be the switch but now that I know what kind of switch it is... kinda doubt that also.

Anyone feel like letting me in where I will eventually end up

Have you made sure that the switch on the clutch and the switch on the kickstand are in good order and arent sticking?

So continue to do this then..."As mentioned, I left the kill switch in the "on" position overnight. She fired right up after I hit the starter button."

Your getting warmer... think I got her licked but won't post until I can verify. Anyone want to play the game and guess what I found was the cause?

Down with spark plug swap right now. Damn they look fouled:

OK, so to correct/retract my statement... she does it with just the key as well... happened today.

Also replaced the battery for grins...

Problem confirmed.

The readjustment of my Pazzo shorty clutch-side lever may be more comfortable... it may engage the clutch enough keep the bike from moving and allow effortless down/up shifts... but it also put it in the ever so gray area of hitting the sensor so the bike would start.

Neighbor wanted to trade his Fatboy for a ride down to Hooters so he adjusted the levers out for his riding style. Good thing becasue I already upgraded the battery and was about to replace the starter relay... then the starter... then the bike...

Sloto200 thanks for the education on cleaning switches... good maintenance tip and I will check them at every oil change interval.

Ba Busa thanks for reminding me how important it is to not take short cuts and assume you know what the problem is. Tech's do it al the time in diagnostics and I give them the same advice... just didn't follow mine.

And thank you to everyone else who pitched in to assist, especially Adam who offered up a switch right away no questions asked.

OK.

Syptoms surfaced again.

I had to move my Pazzo levers another notch out and starts fine.

What is happening here?
Clutch wear?
Sensor moving?
Air in the clutch line?
