(slimshady @ Jan. 11 2007,20:27) my battery went dead after sitting for one month. is that normal?
no, not unless it is sitting outside in subzero weather.
well, the battery wasnt completely dead. when i turned my ignition on my lights and fuel pump (i assume that's what that sucking noise is) came on, i just didnt have enough juice to start it. is that normal after sitting one month in cold temps? (average 30-40)

Uhh...just my .02 cents, "battery tender". Get a good charge on it, and warm it up. If you have synthetic, you've got the basic coating on everything. Check the tires.

Mine went dead after three weeks of sitting with the alarm on. Mine also sits for a week to two weeks at a time crossing the Pacific. Someone told me to disconnect the (-) side of the battery for long periods of no-running, so I do.

If it's going to sit for seasonal periods, plug in a battery tender. Heck, I plug mine in any chance I get, just to keep that Yuasa healthy. Replaced mine once in one year and four months of ownership, just because I wasn't keeping it charged. Darned alarm.

If you're going to jump it, just wire it without the host running. Just borrow enough to start.

I start mine once a month and have no problems at all. About the same temp as you also. I do keep mine in an unheated garage, but I have no battery tender on it.
