Came across this on a Reddit thread. This makes sense to me:Aaaand this also seems like a great potential fix. Basically instead of balancing a tire, you do it for the sprocket. I wish I had learned this 30 years ago...
Your rear sprocklet is WAY off center (assuming it is round). Lossen the bolts, get the chain to tightest postion, tappy tap the sproket towards the front, repeat, re-adjust chain tension, repeat....

I've never seen one that can't be. Bolt holes have some slop, slop allows motion. It's all a game of being within acceptable tolerances. Most times that motion is small ... and sometimes you get this sh*t
