Stock keys

Congrats. Pics please

I'll try and get some pics on tommorrow morning.

Demand Stock keys... Two of them WITH the Tag ID to get dupes made, Period. If necessary they can order a complete replacement kit for ALL locks keyed alike (at their cost). That is 100% grade A BS!

Interesting.

I bought a GMC pickup about three years ago. About a year ago I got this envelope in the mail. It was from the dealership and addressed to me.

It had one key in it, to my truck!
No note, not a thing other than this rattled up envelope with a friggin key in it!
I went up there (to the dealer) and asked WTF and they all played stupid..... No, I did not rekey the truck, they can steal it if they want the darned thing....

As far as Suzuki?
I went to two dealers to get a replacement key made (I lost one of the originals) and neither of them could even dupe it!
They kept screwin up the blank when they cut it.
I finally just bought a blank and took it to a lock smith with one of my originals and they cut a copy for me.. *got home and wife had found the one I lost...... works that way sometime eh?

My originals were logo'd Suzuki keys with black plastic molded on them (the bike came with two of em). The blank they sold me was a Curtis SU18.

Losing the originals and selling Zuke's flagship scoot with a replacement key set would seem pretty ragged salesmanship my man, dont think I'd take'er back up there for any attention!

I bought an 06 busa 3 weeks ago but it came with aftermarket keys in it. I called the dealer and they said some times they lose the keys. I asked the salesman why all of the bikes on the floor have aftermarket keys in them and he didn't know why. He offered to order me a blank key and I told him I wanted two keys already cut. I really want to know what they are doing with the original keys. I am might go up tommorrow and talk to them. I don't know how to get anyone to care enough to look into it. I talked to suzuki and they said it sounded fishy but there wasn't any thing they can do about it. Other than that all is going well and I have put more than a thousand miles on it. All I can say is this bike has ruined any other bike for me. The only thing I will trade it in on is a new one
Thats a little weird...I've never bought a new vehicle and gotten copies of the orig keys....I don't think I'd accept that

Demand the stock keys and the tag with them. You might also want to double check all your fluids...just in case they always forget to fill them up.

its stupid of that dealer to be leaving the keys in the bikes on the floor. customers that are so called looking for a bike can grab the keys then maybe get lucky and see the same bike one day in the neighborhood and take it.

That's fugged up. I'd definitely demand the stock keys...or a new lock kit!

I understand the concern about someone possibly taking the bike...however, all the dealer has to do is lookup your VIN in their system...the original key code is matched to the VIN.

Dealers do loose ALOT of keys... salesmen grab them for a demo, blah blah blah....[/QUOTE]
At a car dealership maybe...but a bike shop??? My spidey sense is tingling on this one.

Bingo! Give this man a prize! This dumb arse dealership leaves keys in the ignition of showroom models and they're being stolen by thieves that KNOW what your bike looks like and if they get lucky to find it parked unattended someday.....well, you can kiss your busa good bye! I'd tell the idiots what is happening and DEMAND a new bike with OEM keys! UNBELIEVABLE!

OK I went to the dealer today and they got me the keys. It turns out the salesman I was dealing with is no longer with them. I wonder why?? I also looked at the new bikes and they all had the proper keys in them. It turns out that the three that I sat on had aftermarket keys and two of them were used (they were still there). So in the end they satisfied me and I don't think they are up to any thing shady. I just got stuck with a bad salesman.

I had a key question also when I bought mine. They gave me two oem keys with a black serial tag but told me to not lose the keys because Suzuki doesn't issue/make replacement keys. I asked what the serial tag was for then and they said so it could be taken to a locksmith....Oh well, I haven't lost a key yet but keep the spare put up and may have a couple extras cut just in case.

Make sure you also get the small metal tag with the key number...if you lose your keys, it's the only way to get another OEM key.

Congrats on the new Busa!

You're saying that they other new bikes have OEM keys, but the used bikes have aftermarket keys? Your salesman is gone, and you have aftermarket keys on your brand new Busa. He knows your address... I'd be VERY concerned and demand that my bike be re-keyed.

On a sidenote, I used to work for a large Volvo dealership. There were no aftermarket keys on the floor for brand new Volvos and this was a lot with hundreds of cars. Note sure why they would be making keys for new bikes at your dealership... doesn't seem right to me.

congrats...and pull out the fishing rod we have a whooper of a fishy here

I have four keys now, hopefully I won't lose them all.

you dont need that metal tag to get keys made.....all they need is your vin# and documentation showing you own the bike
