That's an awesome post. I remember reading it a while back, and I thank you for linking it here. I'll use it as a guide to doing it the right way.

I've had my stock cans drilled for years now and I average about 42 mpg...the long haul to Deal's Gap in April yielded 50 mpg on the highway, so I'd say there's no impact on mpg...

Thanks VA Busa for the advice. By the way, did you do the Pair Mod, as mentioned in other posts, to decrease (or otherwise eliminate) the backfiring?

Yes it lowers MPG. Lower because the better yer bike sounds the more you wanna gun it!
