Street race in 2000

I am the new owner of a Hayabusa and would like to invite all of you to come to a race I promote in Hattiesburg Miss. It is called Street War III and will happen at the end of March or early April next year.
I pay out the most money to the streetbike unlimited class than anyone. Kent Stotz won this years event.

So...bring the kings of speed next year, we will have some fun. Information on the event will be avaiable just after the new year.

Last week Kent Stotz received a 99 blackbird courtesy of Honda, no charge. He will be fitting it with a turbo as he did with his Suzuki that was labled the fastest streetbike in America by cycle world magazine. Apparently Honda is attempting to try and make a name for itself in the drag racing community. Its too bad Suzuki didn't throw a bus Kent's way.

I'm pretty sure it will be at Hub City Dragway 601-545-3724. But I guess it could be at Golden Eagle Speedway @ 601-545-2807. Or even Greenville Dragway @ 601-686-2228 or maybe Gulfport Dragway @ 601-863-4408

Don't know for sure on either one though!

Hey Brock have you ever been there?

Is it worth traveling from Dallas to there?

(Any good st. racing there or will I just get railed?)

I could not make it last year.

The people that I know that did go said it was a Ball!

Thousands of spectators/festive atmosphere and a track the eventually yeilded some 8.30's from the shoot-out bikes!

Brock

A chicago based guy by the name O HAHN RACECRAFT fitt a BlackBird with a Turbo and it made 220rwhp there is an article in Jan Sport Riders. So Good luck!

Mr. Bear,
Tom is still very active in throwing. He is out of the country alot. I would be willing to guess this is the reason he has not posted lately.

Tom also loves the shootout class bikes, the race he puts on is a big draw. He also attends a few of the Prostar races during the season.

Oh yes, he owns a Busa that runs very well.
I belive he still calls New Orleans home.

Brock

Heck Clay, where'd you dig up this old thread??? I know Tom Pukstys, he's a javelin thrower; he was on the Oly. Team in Atlanta...small world!! I didn't know he posted here.

Tom...I'm Herm Nelson, retired walker. If you ever come out the the ARCO Training Center in Chula Vista, look me up. They have an awesome throwing field at ARCO, and Kevin Fitzpatrick is the only one who ever uses it. Strap them javelins onto your Busa like jousting poles and come on out!

Brock, thanks for the update. Tom and I roomed in suites across the hall from each other in Atlanta. I didn't know he was into bikes then or I'd have probably gotten to know him better, but he's a good guy. I know a bunch of the throwers, those guys are a riot. I go to Mobile every now & then, it's not that far from New Orleans in Busa distance. I hope he posts here some more in the future.
