Street Tires for hayabusa 2023

I'm still torn on this. More rubber will provide a bigger contact patch. But it will also wear faster, and require more lean angle. And the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV has an even taller option than the Dunlop Q5S. The Pirelli comes in a 200/60ZR17 80W...
* below is email format, you have to start at the bottom.

Or, I simply stick with the original plan and get the adequate and durable
Dunlop Roadsmart 4 in 190/55ZR17 on the back with a Q5S on the front...

Correct the 200 would be more rounded/pointed allowing for quicker turn in and a larger contact patch while leaned over.

But the recommended rim size [for the 200] is 6.25 in.

On a 6-in rim, squeezing the wider tire should make it even taller. My concern is that I would like to avoid a flatter profile and the consequent reduction in ease of turning.

I imagine the 200 on a 6-in rim should turn as easily or more easily than the 190. Can you confirm? Many thanks...

.... The 200/55 is approximately a ½” taller than the 190/55.

Looking for new tires. On my 6-in rims, I know I want the taller 55 aspect ratio. I'm am inclined to try the Q5S 200/55, and imagine on that 6-in rim, it would be taller and not flatter than the 190/55. Can you confirm?

Consider your gearing will change too.
The taller rear tires are about the equivalent of a -2 rear sprocket.
So lower cruising rpms, less aggressive throttle response, and a higher top speed(if you have the hp to get you there).

Aftermarket S22 in a 190/55 rear.

I’m hearing good things about S23’s but I’m very familiar with and love my S22’s and get them much cheaper.

Anyone who hates a tyre based on the OEM factory fitted version and hasn’t used the aftermarket version needs to learn more about tyres.

S22’s were previously Winner and joint Winner of Sportsbike Tyre of the year.

I’m not hating on Powers, M9’s, Rosso’s etc. I know folk who love’em, along with the 23’s I just see them as all alternatives on the same theme, pick the one you like, doesn’t make the others crap.

I sent to the S22Rs and they are a stellar tire.....I've always been a Bridgestone guy.....

bridgestone makes an excellent tire, they were the spec tire for motogp a while back. although id point out.. surely there is no reason not to switch to the S23 if someone is a bridgestone guy, theres no way the S23 isnt better in basically every way. thats kinda what they do =D

but you owe it to yourself to also try the Q5S (not Q5 as those are single compound) since its SUCH a good tire. its just so damn good while leaned over.

i'm also starting to think these S22's are a soft carcass tire (cant remember, frankly) cuz jesus, sometimes i go over a bump not quite right and i'm left feeling like maybe i banged the rim.

I will try the 23’s, but as the 22’s offer everything I want and need the extra expense and availability here of 23’s has kept me with 22’s. I ride reasonably sporty and do appreciate a good tyre, I recently removed a pair of Angel GT2’s that were awful.
Paying more to get something that’s beyond what I’m using isn’t high on my priority’s.
The 23 isn’t a replacement for the 22, it’s a more expensive alternative, which I’m not requiring at the moment.

I certainly will try them out of interest.
