I wrecked my Busa w/Amy on the back in June of '06, and got married in Aug-on OUR dime. my dad covered dinner but thats about it-we paid for everything else AND i had my bike running again in Sept...
I borrowed a couple stacks from my dad to get a USED car, after I stiffd him for $1500 when I got laid off (co-signed on a car, kinda like you-but thank god it was a Honda n I took good care, great resale n 2 years of payments meant he dint lose his @ss on it) but I made sure he got his $ back tha second time, QUICKLY....mebbe not my place to say, but daughter should be happy you keep makin payments on HER car, and consider THAT her wedding gift.
IMO??-she'll get alot more use out of a car than some fancy flowers n food. I had an AWESOME wedding for less than $6k even tho everyone thought we spent like $10k...
