SUICIDE OR SUPERMAN???

Another thing, I just feel like saying. I don't expect anyone around to encourage people to start riding with a Hayabusa, I mean I hope there are as few as possible. In contrary, it makes sense to be very critical with such beginners.
Though I can't talk with experience much, but from my vette driving experience, I would say something. While looking desperately for some solution to make you feel confident in the world of people who know what they're doing, don't try to tell yourself "so what if I kill myself, it's my life and it's ok with me, so let's ride". Don't be that selfish, think of the danger you are on the road for others, and try to assume all the responsibility of what you might cause. Unless you're a mass murderer, this should do some good.

I'm holding off...till 2000,
its hard as hell!!
After reading about some of the manufacturer defects posted by you guys,i decided it will be better to wait for the 2nd generation of 'BUSA's.Giving Suzuki time to correct some of there flaws.Besides, the extra 5 or so HP could come in hand!
Now only if the world doesn't end.

Budda,
A perfect opportunity to pick up a used sportbike. You could ride for 6-7 months before the Y2K comes out. If you do a little shopping around, you could get a bike that will hold it's value and get some great riding time in. Sell it, buy the Y2K, and have a bit of experience under your belt.

My opinion would be to take the class, don't buy the Bus yet. It is way too much for someone who hasn't ever ridden before. You have to learn how to twist the throttle first on a smaller bike before you get on the Bus. If you jump on the Bus and grab that throttle your legs will be flying behind you like a cartoon character. Try the GSXR 600 or 750 first both are great bikes and will keep you happy for some time. Plus the resale won't be a problem. I have seen too many inexperienced riders on new bikes that are too powerful for them around here. About 90% of them have downed them. Their bike sits in the repair shop for most of the summer and many of them are laid up at the same time from some sort of injury. Take your time. The bike are only gonna get better. By next year or two years from now you can write to us and tell us you have the best bike on earth while some of us are still on our 99 buses. Finally, just because you have the fastest bike doesn't make you the greatest it's when you have mastered the bike you have that makes you the greatest. If you can't control the bus then those little 600's are gonna kick your butt and make you look like an idiot.
Good luck and be safe.
