The weather was in the low 70s and the wind was pretty high (15 MPH with gusts up to 33 MPH), but the ride was scheduled and we decided to go ahead. The ride was with a bunch of people that I work with and of course they all ride cruisers. I thought about taking my Volusia, but with the wind thought the 'Busa would be better. Okay, who am I trying to kid I was taking the 'Busa just because!
Anyway with all the bikes in the group (see the pics) which one got the attention at all stops. Of course, the 'Busa! Our first stop was at a convenience store after about 60 miles and the lady working the counter ran over to me and went on and on and on about how beautiful the bike was. Asked what the symbol meant? And how much it cost? When I told her, the little boy with her said, "I told you that was all it cost." She guessed $30K, by the way. She was extremely pumped.
Next stop was for lunch at a KFC. Two 'fellas driving an Expedition came in and spent a few minutes lookin' at it before coming in to eat. As we were getting ready to leave there eyes were fixed on me and the 'Busa. As we came around the restaurant about ready to enter the roadway they were standing at the window cheering. I'm not the best at lip reading, but I think they said, "That's what I'm talking about!"
I had the Tobin seats on and many people thought they were great! Even had one of the old guys (he was actually the lead for the trip) come over to me and tell me he was thinking of getting a 2d bike (his wife had said it was okay) and he really like the way the 'Busa looked. He also asked if mine was lowered because he hadn't seen many sportbikes that he touch the ground on.
Anyway, sorry for the rant but it was nice to hear the enthusiasm of others about the 'Busa. Even with the high winds it made for a great ride!
Here are a few pics of the group of bikes on the ride.
