if you are going to extend and put a fat tire on a busa, you might as well have started at OCC or west coast choppers, just makes the bike a showpiece, leave it stock, and rip the right grip......
If you are going to drag the bike then it would be a good mod but if you want to do all types of riding then I would highly recommend against doing it. It will kill your handling in the twisties.
If you want extensions, get em,Just go with a quality piece and not the cheap ones.Remember that the handling goes away a bit and you'll need a longer chain.
Just my opinion here but if the primary reason for getting a bike is to ride the twisties.....wouldn't a liter bike be a better choice??? I say if you want extend the swingarm do it, but like NJ says use quality stuff. Oh and i haven't seen to many OCCs or west coast choppers that accelerate as fast as the busa
I think they are as fun going straight or dragging a knee. Plus a busa with a 240 on the back is just bad a$$ looking.
Again my opinion........... people get bikes for different reasons, to each their own i just get tired of the big tire bashing that goes on here. I've never heard anyone say "oh you went to a 180 on the rear that looks gay". I figure obviously someone does that to enjoy the busa in a different way than someone who extends the swingarm and puts a big tire on the back.
What ever reason we all got our bikes for and how we modify them.............they ALL are bad a$$ rides that others only wish they had whether it has a stock back tire on it or a 330 on the back.
i dig a 4" extension, does'nt look like it alienates the tire from the bike. a 240 would be the widest "i" would go. i'd still loose some handling but the 240 still has a much more of a curve to it than the wider tires.
