THE 2nd ANNUAL HAYABUSA.ORG TRACKDAY!!

Count me in for all three days.  Put the wiff down for at least one day, probably Sunday.

--Wag--
Hey Lou, things to consider for Nan's one day. It'll "probably" be cheaper on Monday than Sat&Sun. Sat&Sun run a 3 group format A,B & C while Monday will be a 2 group format A & B. So while Monday may be cheaper, it'll also have some faster riders in the B group where Sat & Sun's C group should be a slower set of riders.

Its gonna be great seeing you guys again!!

Update for Monday only.

Here's what I have for Monday, Labor Day with ApexTrackdays;
Charlesbusa
BA BUSA
Big O
gtrpimp76
Lamb busa
BusaWhipped
Young Hong
Jason Hong
Ryan Hong

Count me in for Saturday - one day.  I was on the track this last season about 3 times.  I'd like to ride with you all.

Thanks for doing this again!
Hope you actually make it to the track with us this year

Well, not all of us made it to 170

 I'll be running different gearing next time

I wasn't planning such a long trip again next year, but for 3 days on the full track, its worth the drive.  So as long as we can get all three days, I'm in.
Make it happen Dennis!!

Not a problem. Looking at running 18/45 at the track. With the gearing I had this year, I was only able to get her up to 9,500 RPM in 4th on the front straight before running out of track.

Dennis, Charles was running stock gearing last year and was a banshee down the straight. So much of the top speed is about the drive off. Lamb was behind you a few times and it didn't seem like your drive off was that bad at all. That being said, Your idea with the 18/45 gearing has me intrigued. A bit of the new busa in that approach. Might just consider something like that myself!

17/40 is stock and since 6th gear doesn't redline down Miller's straight with 17/40 you want more acceleration. Why goto an 18tooth front unless that's what you already have? What did you run last year Dennis?

Charles was VERY GOOD with the drive off RELEASE. I was up his tailpipe most of the time during one session and thought I could "easily" pass him down the straight. He actually pulled out a bit b/c of the drive, and his line selection as well.

Oh, and corner speed is very crucial in getting that good drive as well. Charles had that as well.

Yo Chuckles...

Dennis the drive off the final corner is crucial for the top speed you will make on the front straight.

I was running 17/43...which would be better than 18/45. I was able to get into 6th @ Miller, but mostly just held it in 5th...you cover a lot of ground REAL quick at the top of 5th.

I run 18/40 on the street, which I left on the bike when I prepped for Miller. I worked on Release all weekend and was consistently draging knee through it on Monday, but I know I still can get better through it.

You could run a 18/45, but you are gonna need a longer chain.

Yep, 113 links.  Maybe I'll look at swapping out the front sprocket foor the track. I already have a set of wheels for the track and a set for the street. I going to depend which is more work to swap out.

According to the gearing website, thanks Rich, with a 190/50 rear;

6th gear
17/43  173mph
18/45  175mph
18/46  171mph

With a 190/55 rear;
17/43  178mph
18/45  180mph
18/46  176mph

The lower the top speed number the faster you'll get to it

So if you want more accel than Rich's 17/43, you gotta go 18/46

I'm running 190/55s on the rear.  46 tooth sounds like the ticket.
I ran the 190/55 also...for the track GET RID OF THE 18 front!!!!!!

You can plug in the #'s from the gearing website to see the final drive ratio's  stock is 2.35 17/40

18's are best for a little better gas mileage on the street or some top speed IF you have the EXTRA HP to pull it...18 front and 45 or 46 plus a extra link or two for the chain...BAD BAD BAD for the track (road course)

You are adding more rotating weight = less acceleration and if you lengthen the wheel base you hurt cornering too...

Your best set up is going to be the 190/55 for the most grip...then for GREAT drive out of the corners go with 17/43-45

We can work this all out before the next trip....BUT YOU HAVE TO LOSE THE 18 FOR THE TRACK!!!!!!!!

The wiff says she wants to do the first and last days!
