The bike and myself are back in one piece

I posted up a while ago about me riding my new 'Busa that I bought on Ebay from Seattle Washington to Austin Texas. Well, I made it home yesterday after a solid 5 days of riding, and it was AMAZING!

OP: https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/new-owners-forum/141653-call-me-crazy.html

I left Seattle on December 6th and cruised down I-5 all the way to just north of LA, then I cut over and went east on I-10 basically all the way back to Texas. I wanted to hop over on the PCH, but the threatening weather made me stick to the highway to make better time.

This was my first time up in the Northwest and I must say I'm extremely jealous of ya'll living up there. Riding down the mountain passes in Northern California was beautiful. Even though my bike has a 6" extended swingarm, the sweeping turns up and down the mountain seemed like they were from a dream.

During my whole trip I was able to stay about a day or two ahead of the bad weather. I got rained on some in Sacremento Cali, but my rain gear held up with no problems.

Once I hit Phoenix I had to get a new set of tires. There were Metzer's on when I got it. I went with Dunlop Q2's and for the rest of the ride they were great. I never though 100 mph would get boring, but some of those desert straights seemed like they would never end. I did end up averaging about 500 miles per day with a stock seat and stock pegs (I'm 6'3" tall). I was definitely sore every night, but well worth the memories, and now all I want to do is ride more.

In the end I'm now living in Austin Texas, got the 'Busa and myself back in one piece, so if anybody in the area wants to get together and ride let me know and I'll be there. :beerchug:

Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures but I did take a few. Since the desert was so boring I pulled out my camera while I was riding and snapped a few

I've got the bike all washed up now, but it's a bit windy here in Texas. I'll be able to get more pictures up later this week when it warms up some.

Congrats on making it safely on such a long trip.

now that's the way to break in a new ride  glad everything went well and you were able to stay ahead of the weather :beerchug:

Had to be a wonderful trip and a great way to pick up your bike!

Thanks everyone!

Tall guy mods are probably on the way, but I found several positions on the bike where I was comfortable even with how it is now. If I lower the pegs won't it be harder to drag the knee due to the slightly different riding position?
