The closest I have ever been to a highside

Re: The clobilisest I have ever been to a highside

Where was that at? lake draper? not sure that it would have helped but what is your tire pressure at? good to know it was not a slide out or high side. remember cap always save 10% for the "O-crap" factor.

Re: The clobilisest I have ever been to a highside

I have had that happen to me a few times, most recently on corner 9 at Hallett. Scares the crap right out of you. I think my GPR saved my arse as well.

Ummm. High sides suck. And they hurt and leave you looking like bruised fruit and then the inertia keepps you moving out into traffic infront of other bikes and...

Glad you kept her up, but even more glad you were able to keep your wits about you!

Holy cow, captain! I mean batman. Good save! Invisible sand is the worst.

I had a much less dramatic experience while being upright - somewhere out in the country. Couldn't figure why the rear was sliding at a certain spot on the road. When I stopped to examine, I discovered a fine sand of the same color as the road!

I'm the #3! Yesterday afternoon, leaving work as I always do, taking a hard right into a merge lane for the highway. I was going about 25, not a drastic lean, but enough to have my rear tire slide a solid 12" if not more. I slightly let of the throttle just a fraction and rear tire caught and I was good. I think it was a small patch of sand of clay.

On a more "sober" note. Glad things didnt turn ugly for ya ! High siding sucks ! Trust me on this one.

A very close shave for you today Capt'n...may i suggest growing a bread for a while?

Glad you're ok....

A michelin loosing traction? Unbelievable!

Sounds like you did the right thing Doug! The ole busa girl will spinem up easily and will teach you throttle control either on your seat or on your head!

Congrats on keeping her upright buddy! :beerchug:

Re: The clobilisest I have ever been to a highside

They say bad things happen in threes, So who is the other guy doing an unintentional drift today?
Reminds me of yesterday when I blew the rear tire off instead of clutching up into second like I had in visioned. :poke:

oooppps:rulez::rulez:

Cap :beerchug: glad to see you didn't have a more expensive / painful day.
