The Dissapearing Oil

(Gunnybusa @ Aug. 28 2007,16:36) 3100 mm for me. And besure to check it with the bike standing in it's riding postion and not on the side stand. I use front and rear wheel stands when I change my oil.
+1 on that

makes it easier to get a pan under the bike too

(06BUSA @ Aug. 27 2007,09:53) You check it with the bike off?
There are 2 amount to add. I don't remember but they are for oil change with or without filter. What does the manual says?
The manual says 3.1 without filter and 3.3 with it. Yep, I checked when it was off and warmed up.
What book are getting that info out of

3.5 quarts for a oil change...3.7 with the filter

With a new filter add 4 quarts and you're GTG

I have the owners manual, and of course they are normally off. But I didnt have it in front of me, Ill check when I get home but I could have sworn thats what it said.

BTW, I checked once more with the bike completely level and it was full.

3.7 with filter change and I always change the filter with the oil. With four quarts I'm always well below the full mark and would guess that the full mark is alright with Zuki engineers

(8Daytona8 @ Aug. 28 2007,15:43) ***Curious would 3.7 to 4.0 put a little drag on the crank and cost a few hp...*** and make it run much hotter tooo! Half qt more is much worse than less!
3.7 with a filter change will put you over the min (low mark)...with 4.0 you are still under the max (full mark)
